Gerard’s POV
The questioning is terrible, I have to answer so many stupid, personal, as well as some embarrassing questions.
“Now Gerard, how long has your father been doing this?” The social worker asks.
“Ever since I was eight years old...” I mutter.
“And who knows about this?”
I snort. “Well the whole fucking world now that Ray betrayed me.”
“He was trying to be a good friend. He wants you to get the help you need and deserve.” She says, an expression of worry on her face.
“I told him not to spill the fucking beans, he did.” I sigh.
“Well lets get back on board. Do you have any support through this?”
I wipe tears from the corners of my eyes. “I did have Ray.”
“Raymond’s still your support. He cares about you, Gerard.” She says and I roll my eyes.
“I don’t need this shit.” I mutter and get up from my seat. I jiggle the door handle, it’s locked.
“We need to finish this, Gerard. This needs to be resolved.” The social worker walks towards me. I start to panic and I start to kick the door. I am extremely claustrophobic and this isn’t helping. Instead of staying strong I crumple to the floor in a heap and I cry my eyes out as the social worker puts her arms around me. “This is going to be resolved, I promise you, Gerard.”
Ray’s POV
After talking to the social worker I am forced to wait outside until Gerard is finished with his questioning. He takes a lot longer and when he is finally out he runs into my arms, he shakes as I hold him.
“I don’t wanna go home, Ray...” He says in a small voice. “Please don’t make me go home...”
“I won’t let you go home, Gee...” I hold him closer as tears fill my own eyes and blur my vision. He reaches up to kiss my cheek and I blush and look at him, we look into each others eyes for a moment before Gerard smiles and mouths ‘thank you’.

I tell my parents what happened to Gerard and they are more than happy to let Gerard stay with us. Gerard goes back home in the middle of the day when there is no one else around to get his things. He comes back with two big suitcases and I bring them up to my room. I decide to let him use my bed to sleep on; the futon I have isn’t so bad to sleep on anyway. I help Gerard unpack his things, mostly everything he packed is clothes, comics, and art supplies. There is a bottle half full of Xanax and a blade with dried blood on it that I find and throw away immediately without Gerard knowing.
“So how do you like your new room?” I smile.
“It’s great...thank you so much, Ray.” Gerard hugs me and doesn’t let go. “I’m so sorry I ever thought you weren’t a real friend for telling Ms. Jenkins, but now I see that you really did do it for the better.”
“I care about you, Gee. You’re my best friend.” I smile down at him and bite my lip. He is looking up at me with those big, beautiful hazel eyes. A glow forms around him and he is the only person in existence at the moment. His lips are on mine before I can even process what’s happening. He pushes me backwards onto the bed and kisses me deeper, more wanting. He’s making little whimpering noises as he kisses. I wrap my arms around him and hold him close to me, I kiss him with the same passion. We pull away, gasping for air, and I blush dark. Gerard curls up next to me and I hold him.
“I love you, Ray...” He says.
“I love you too, Gee...more than you know...” I hold him closer and feel just a little bit happier.
A few moments later Gerard jumps up and scrambles off of the bed. “I can’t...I can’t do this...” He shakes.
“Do what?” I am confused.
“I can’t bring myself to love anyone...I’m sorry...but I know I’ll get hurt...” With that he leaves the room.
