“Papa, Mama, I’m scared!” Vic covered his eyes. His mother caressed his hair and laid a kiss on his cheeks. “You’re gonna do just fine, my caballero.” His mother spoke in a soft voice.
Vic looked down at the floor and sighed. “Papa, take care of my goldfish.”
“I will.” His father looked stern and showed no sign of gratitude. Arrogance was what Vic had thought that overcame his father’s senses.
Vic turned around and saw the bus stopping in front of his house. He balled his fists and inhaled deeply. “I’m ready.”
Suddenly, he felt a strong force of pressure pushing him from behind. “Move, faggot!” Mike, his younger brother yelled. “We’re going to be late, fuckface.”
Vic narrowed his eyebrows and looked at the bully whom he is forced to call, his brother. Although they were just a year apart, Mike has been treating him badly. Vic was the softer one. Mike was rather rebellious and does anything that he wants to.
Vic rushed his way to the bus and once he got on it, he proceeded to the seat which was unoccupied. Before he managed to sit down, Mike pushed his head roughly.
“What was that for?!” Vic scowled at Mike’s face.
“Pussy. Get the fuck off.” He pierced his words hard enough in Vic’s face that somehow controlled his thoughts. Vic got up unwillingly and sat down somewhere else. Mike grinned sarcastically at Vic and howled at him. His friends laughed together at Vic.
Vic pressed both of his palms and covered his face. Tears dropped from his eyes, wetting his face.
“Wipe that gay tears from your eyes. You suck.” Mike came from behind and slapped his head again.
That time, Vic couldn’t help himself anymore. He cried loudly and swerved out of the bus when there was an opening of the doors. Everyone laughed at him and he felt miserable. He ran towards nowhere basically, he was so caught up with his sorrows that he couldn’t even focus on what’s happening in front when he bumped into a huge figure.
The person grabbed Vic’s collar and threw him aside. When Vic looked up, a guy who’s probably 20-30 years old looked down on him with his sadistic eyes.
“You purposely hit me, eh?” The guy laughed and kicked Vic’s stomach which made him shut his eyes close, writhing in pain. “Sorry, must have hit you too hard!”
The guy grabbed Vic by the collar and raised him in mid-air and threw a punch on Vic’s face. Blood spilled from his mouth as he begged for mercy. “Please... Stop...” Vic had no more spiritual strength as his voice subsidizes its volume.
His vision became unclear but he knew one thing for sure; someone had come to save him and grabbed him by the arms. He wasn’t so sure of who was the person until he heard his voice.
“You douchebag! Why did you run away!?” Mike shouted at Vic.
Vic managed a faint smile and blanked out.
Vic smiled to himself when Jaime appeared from behind, offering him a drink. “Why are you smiling by yourself?” Jaime questioned.
“Nah. Memories.”
“What is it?”
“I shouldn’t really tell you.” Vic got up and went to the stage. They’d just finished soundcheck but there he was, Mike, banging his drums. He saw Vic’s figure and waved at him.
Vic dashed to Mike and hugged him, making him fall down.
Both of them laughed. “What was that for!?” Mike shouted happily.
“Thank you for being the best brother ever.”
Mike smiled. Vic offered his arms and they were tugged to each other for a long time.
