In July

Could we,
please,
in July
stay up through the night
Run in the dew and
moonlight
Forget about our lives

Could we,
please,
photograph
every moment and memory
The car radio and
the drinks at the edge of the park

Could we,
please,
walk
home as the sun rises
When we’re the only ones in the world
walking into the quiet
morning

And could we,
please,
conquer the graveyard
as well?
