This is an excerpt from an old fic I wrote, it's called Bite My Tongue.
A soft, familiar sound made its way to Gerard's ears as he lay, curled into a ball, on a hard, uncomfortable seat in the bus terminal. He sat up, hazel eyes searching the area for the source of the sound. Almost instantly, he spotted a group of five individuals. There were four boys and one girl, and three of the five had guitars on their lap, strumming delicately at the strings. Gerard smiled a small smile, and arranged himself in his seat so he could continue to watch and listen to them. One boy had a nose piercing (Gerard could see that from the way the murky window-tinted sun glinted off it) and he had a bass sat in his lap. The other boy was bashing at a makeshift drum kit. He wondered, should I move closer? Would they be scared, or angry? He bit at his lower lip, small teeth digging into the battered flesh. He decided to stay where he was for the time being. The realization suddenly clicked in. The sound he heard was music. Beautiful, soft, melodic music. A wide grin cracked upon his lips and a gleeful giggle slipped out. His eyes widened and he instantly clamped a hand over his mouth, wary of anyone who may have heard him. Jeez, what's that wanker giggling over? Should men even giggle? He's probably not even a man, just a cockgobbler, just a useless little gayboy. Look, he's wearing eyeliner and tight jeans! He must be one of those fags! The words that whispered themselves to him sent a shiver up his spine. Fuck you, Gerard mentally spat back. He could almost hear the venom woven into his accent. It was also at that moment that he decided he was going to move over to the small group of teenagers, and listen to their music. He nodded firmly to himself, and got up on confident legs. He kept his eyes trained on the group, and smirked a little as the girl looked up from her blue-and-black guitar and locked eyes with him. Her eyes were a deep chocolate brown, full of mystery. He chuckled quietly to himself and ambled over to the group.
