Unexpected Visitors

I feel more than refreshed after my long sleep, and hour or so later I find myself out side of Robyn’s house waiting for her to open the door. I hear the door handle rattle so I look up. To my surprise there stands a tall guy with a droopy afro. I look around, confused wondering if I've got the wrong house. “Can I help you?” he says with a smile on his face. “Um, I-is Robyn here? I stutter.
He smiles. “You must be Katie, I'm Ray.” Is he one of Robyn's friends? I think to myself. Robyn had mentioned to me that she might have a few friends round, I wasn't exactly happy about this but it’s Robyn so I wasn’t going to say anything. I was expecting for them to be girls, I don’t have much experience with boys, as friends or more than that. Not wanting to look stupid, I smile and nod, he gestures for me to come in and tells me that Robyn would be down in a bit. I kick off my vans into a pile of much larger shoes, I know what awaits me through the door.
Boys, three to be exact, not counting Ray that is. He’s too tall to be classed as a boy anyway. Sitting on the only sofa in the room are the odd boys.
Ray walks over to them and sits on the arm of the sofa. They look up to see Ray walking over, and me awkwardly standing in the middle of room, hands in pockets staring back at them. Ray perches next to a pale guy with messy shoulder length dark brown hair covering his eyes. Gerard. I immediately recognise him, I have no idea how I’d forgot about him up until now. Next to him a short guy with similar hair except darker, big eyes, lip and nose piercings; I see a tattoo on his neck, but I can't work out what it is from, his current angle. Then squashed at the end, the boy who ran into me. I see the flicker of recognition in his eyes but he remains silent, I see no such thing I Gerard’s eyes. I guess he doesn’t remember me. I wonder the whereabouts of Bob but choose not to mention him, I don’t want to seem like I know anything about them. For all I know Ray is the only one who knows my name. This is confirmed when Ray interrupts the silence “This is Katie, Robyn’s cousin. She’s stopping round tonight.”
The short guy nudges Gerard and loudly whispers “I would” Gerard’s expression did not change and he remains staring at me. I can feel my cheeks blushing, I can’t help but feel intimidated by his stare, It feels like he’s trying to read me. “I'm sorry about them” says Ray glaring at the short guy, “They're not very social” he says in a joking manner but I can tell there is a sense of truth behind it. I smile back politely. Gesturing towards the short guy, he say “This is Frank” Frank winks at me. “Watch out for him he adds” I feel my cheeks blushing once again and I hear Gerard mumble “behave”.
“This is Mikey, and Gerard; They're brothers” continues Ray. I involuntarily raise my eyebrows in shock, they don't look at all similar, not in the slightest. Gerard smiles at my reaction, guessing my thoughts.
I hear the door click open behind me, Robyn springs from behind me “KATIE!” she squeals and gives me a big hug lifting me off my feet. As Robyn hugs me I can hear her friends talking, but I can only make out a few words. “So, have you all introduced yourselves then?” Asks Robyn. The guys all nod. “Will you help me get drinks?” Robyn asks me. Happy to have some time alone with her I accept. Before I manage to escape from the eyes of Gerard I notice him looking at my shirt. Feeling self-conscious I awkwardly cross my arms around my stomach, he looks up at me, because I disrupted his train of thought, our gaze holds for too long and it became awkward. As I left with Robyn I firmly closed the door behind me. Maybe I wasn't the only awkward one here...
