Like A Vampire
1 ReviewsThe sunlight came streaming in through the window, hitting Mel's face with force. The fourteen-year-old girl pulled the warm cotton blanket over her face, avoiding the light like a vampire would. There a thumping inside her temples and behind eyebrows, one that was not going away anytime soon.
"Here, this might help." A soothing voice whispered in her ear. Mel didn't know who it was, she had never heard their voice before. However, this person slid two pills into her palm and held a glass of water close to her face.
The teen girl sat up on the sofa, that she had clearly slept on the previous night, maybe a little too fast. Her head was hurting more, if that was possible. Mel was still fully dressed from the party too. Looking down at the floor, she saw a young woman sitting beside the sofa.
"It's just aspirin." She said, tucking a strand of golden blonde locks behind her ear. The girl’s eyes were the same shade of brown as Logan, with just as much care and friendliness as his did too. That was the first thing Mel noticed about, instantly putting her trust in this girl to get rid of the killer headache she had. She couldn't see much else, apart from her long blonde hair. She had a pillow on her lap, that must have fallen off the sofa while Mel was asleep, which she was cuddling up to.
Mel slipped the two white pills into her mouth and drank at least half of the full glass of water. Mel hated tablets, they made her feel sick, so she usually drowned herself in water to swallow them. And if it meant getting rid of the pain, she would take them.
The door to the room opened up and in stepped Logan, dressed in only a pair of grey sweat pants. He had his arm in the air and the opposite hand over his mouth, covering his yawn while stretching it out.
"PUT SOME CLOTHES ON!" The girl shouted, shielding her eyes. Logan gave her a funny look, before looking down at his own body. He just shrugged and jumped on the end of the sofa by Mel's feet.
Mel couldn't keep her eyes off Logan's well toned body. He was in great shape for a fourteen-year-old. Then again, he had to be, being on the football team and all.
"Morning." He smiled, seeing how Mel was eyeing him up in her dream state. The girl on the floor gagged, throwing the cushion from her lap at Logan. "I see you're happy this morning, Jenn." Logan smirked, throwing the cushion back at her. Mel was just caught in the middle of this pillow fight, before the blonde girl threw it at James as he entered the room.
The two fourteen-year-olds just stared at each other for a while. Mel decided to break the silence first, it was getting too uncomfortable for her. "What happened last night?" She asked, trying to remember, but it only hurt her head more.
"You let Logan steal your virginity." James told her calmly. However, Mel didn't take the news too calmly. She was speechless, only showing her emotions through the bright red burning on her cheeks and the bulging blue eyes that looked like they were about to pop out of their sockets at any moment.
"JAMES!" The blonde girl screamed at him, backhanding his arm. "YOU CAN'T TELL HER THINGS LIKE THAT!"
"We didn't do..." Logan stopped himself from saying anything, because they had done something. Making-out was something. "That." He said instead. "As far as I know, you're still a virgin."
"This conversation just went from weird to down right creepy." Mel whispered.
"Then let's change it." The blonde girl said. "Hey, I'm Jennifer, Jenn for short." The blonde girl smiled at Mel. Jennifer must have been about nineteen, roughly the same age as James. Her blonde hair reached her lower back and was curled into loose ringlets, though it was natural. She was wearing a baggy grey t-shirt and bright pink short shorts, that barely covered anything.
"Mel, Jenn is my sister." Logan told his bewildered friend. "Jenn, this is my friend Mel." Jennifer smiled at her younger brother, as if to say 'friend?'. Logan rolled his eyes and got up from the sofa.
"LOGAN!" A young voice came screaming through the house, then the sudden sound of elephants stomping down the staircase. A young girl, no older than seven, ran into the room, soon followed by a little boy a few years younger than her. The girl looked like a younger version of Jennifer and the boy a younger version of Logan and James. "Mom says if you want your girlfriend to stay then you have to make me toast, OTHERWISE she gotta go!"
"Make your own toast." Logan replied, shoving the girl towards the kitchen.
"MOOOOOOOOM!" The younger shrieked, but Logan ignored her.
"Mom's not here, Pres." James told her, making her face fall to the floor. "Her and dad away for the weekend, remember?" Pres punched James in his knee cap, since that was all she could reach without holding her arms any higher than her waist.
"Mel, this is my other sister Presley and my other brother Philip." Mel stared at Logan and shook her head. "What?" He smirked at her.
"I never knew you had any siblings, then within twenty-four hours, I find out you have four." Mel smiled at him.
"Five." Logan corrected. "I also have another older brother, but he's moved out." Mel just shook her head again.
"So, Logan." James said, breaking the prolonged silence. "What are you going to do?" Logan turned to face his brother, completely confused as to what he was talking about. "Well, you have a hungover actress on your sofa, you must have a plan."
"I have a plan...I might not have thought of it yet, but I have one." Logan replied, sitting down on the sofa, again. Only this time, he sat by Mel.
"SHIT!" Mel yelled out. Everyone turned to look at her. "I've got to call Ryan."
"It's okay, Jenn took your cell and called him." Logan told her, trying to get her to calm down. "We told him you were too tired to walk home, so we came back here instead." A wave of relief washed over Mel as she fell against the back of the sofa. "Do you wanna go have a lie down upstairs, go back to sleep?" Logan offered, but Mel shook her head no. Everyone was being nice to her, she couldn't just go back to bed. That would be using and abusing, in her book, anyway.
"So...Thought of a plan yet?" James asked again, only earning himself a death glare from his younger brother.
