You're back to your old ways.
Creating new scars.
New tears.
New lies.
New fears.

A flame that flickers,
licking against your flesh,
leaving dark marks,
and the wretched,
foul smell.

You like feeling the cuts.
The thin little slices scattered,
telling a story that will never fade away.
You have to fight a smile.
That relieved little smile
tugs right at the corners of your trembling lips.

And then, a sip of alcohol.
Oh, just another sip.
It never fails to fight back,
burning, stinging, numbing.
It's nice.

Oh, why did you ever leave this behind?
