All I Want

The day is the 23rd of May 2013, at 11:00am, and the scene is a busy school hall. This school is the school of our character, a young girl by the name of Sadie Hobbs, who is sat on her own in the corner, headphones in and drawing as if it's the last day on Earth. Her drawing? It's top secret, not even I, the author, am allowed to know. Anyway, Sadie gets into a little bit of trouble with the typical group of people she hates the most, well, two people, two girls. These girls go by the name of Amber and Jordan. These girls went to Sadie's old school, and was good friends with them for a while, before they got hit with Popularity, as did others, and they drifted apart.

"Hi, Sadie." The girls sit down, and Sadie looks up and removes on of her headphones, before responding.

"Hello." A plain and simple response, was what Sadie gave, as she didn't really like talking with others, she had very big social anxiety, so steered clear of day-to-day conversations.

"What are you doing?" Jordan, a girl with blonde hair, asks, looking over at the drawing in Sadie's hands, which Sadie hides away from them.

"Nothing, just drawing." Another plain and simple response.

"What are you listening to?" Amber, a girl with brown-ish hair asks, snatching the spare headphone and placing it in her ear, hearing the chords of Breathless, one of Sadie's favourite song. Within seconds, the headphone was out of Amber's ear, and she turned up her nose in disgust.

"Ew, what even is that music?" Sadie never answered this question, for the answer she wanted to give would most likely get her judgements and bullying, and Sadie has had quite enough of being bullied for who she was. After a few minutes of silence, the girls got up, laughing, and walked away, occasionally turning their heads back to look at the brown-haired girl sat on the floor, with the black headphones back in her ears, as she slaved over her latest drawing, and the girls laughed yet again.

Sadie sighed, before turning to a clear page in her notebook, and started writing something, a wish.

I wish I could show people who I really am, and not get judged for it.
I wish I wasn't shy all the time, and I wish I had friends to interact with.
I wish I could be who I want to be, not who people say I have to be..

Sadie continued to write out her wishes and desires, until the bell for class rung loudly, and she had to gather up all her things and move along to her next class.

The next day is the same routine as yesterday, which was the same as the day before. But, after the usual talk with those girls again, Sadie felt something, an electic spark or something, and Sadie rose from her spot on the floor, phone clutched tight in her hand, and she lifted herself up on one of the risers in the hall, one no one was by or sat on, and Sadie unplugged her headphones from their audio jack, and the chord's of A Day To Remember's All I Want began to fill the halls. The verse came up quickly, and Sadie opened her mouth and started to sing.

"I'm always screaming my lungs out,
until my head starts spinning.
playing my songs is the way I cope with life,
won't keep my voice down,
know the words I speak,
are the thoughts I think out loud.

I like to keep things honest,
I'm a safe bet,
bet your life's staked on it for real.
I'd hate to keep you all wondering,
I'm constant like the seasons,
and I'll never be forgotten man.

Let's leave no words unspoken,
and save regrets for the broken,
wil you even hold back,
when you think of me?

All I want,
is a place to call my own,
to mend the heartsm
of everyone who feels alone.
woah,
you know to keep your hopes up high,
and your head down low.

Keep your hopes up high and your head down low.

Still got something left to prove,
it tends to keep things moving,
while everyone around me says,
my last days are looming overhead.
but what the hell do they think they know?
my head's above the water,
while they drown in the undertow.

Let's leave no words unspoken,
and save regrets for the broken.
will you even hold back when you think of me?

All I want,
is a place to call my own.
to mend the hearts,
of everyone who feels alone.
woah.
you know to keep your hopes up high,
and your head down low.

All I want,
is a place to call my own.
to mend the hearts,
of everyone who feels alone.
woah.
you know to keep your hopes up high,
and your head down low.

If you take it from me,
live your life from yourself,
cuz when it's all said and done,
you don't need anyone else.
come on.

So let's get back to when everything seemed perfect,
not a worry in the world,
tell me,
was it all worth it?
I get what I was so everyone's always judging me,
I'm not afraid of anything,
and I got the whole world in front of me.

All I want is a place to call my own,
to mend the hearts of everyone who feels alone,
woah, you know,
to keep your hopes up high and your head down low.

All I want is a place to call my own,
to mend the hearts of everyone who feels alone,
woah, you know,
to keep your hopes up high and your head down low.

Keep your head down low,
keep your head down low,
keep your hopes up high and you head down low."

After singing the song, Sadie looked around the hall to see all eyes on her. She got nervous, but she got the little voice in her head saying she had to say it, so she did. Sadie cleared her throat, and shouted at the top of her lungs.

"I am Sadie Hobbs, and I am not like any of you! I am who I am, not who you want me to be."
