  A Turk story without some semblance of violence and dark humor is not a good Turk story.
  
  That said -- you nailed this.
  
  I liked the jokes, tho' I couldn't quite laugh at 'em -- the sombre atmosphere didn't allow me. The scene you painted in my head is beautiful and solemn, just so right for these two.
  
  I loved the last joke - it was perfect.

  Wow. This is so poignant and full of meaning that it's almost unfair to think that's it's not part of the canon storyline. Funny and dark. Great stuff.
