The Good Times..and the secrets

Laughing and singing along with the songs on the radio, these were moments that Aleson missed. The bliss of being a teenager, feeling like there was no worries, no stress, no making sure that dad didn't spend all the money on beer, and making sure that the mortgage was in. Just singing along with a friend, as they cruised around looking for something to eat. All the sudden Brendon brought Aleson back from her blissful thoughts.
"So what have you been up to since I've last seen you?" as he slowed the car to a stop at a red light.
/Nothing much, just getting beaten by my dad, working a messed up job. And oh yea, making a regular trip to the doctors every week to make sure that I'm not damaged./
"Nothing much, just working here and there. Making sure my sister does well in school. You know. Just the usual." she lied. As the light turned green and Brendon began to start the car forward, he looked at her with raised eyebrows.
/ Great, even after two years apart, he still knows when I'm lying./
"Aleson, you know -," Brendon began just to be cut off, "I know I know. Okay, it's nothing serious , just girl problems." Brendon opened his mouth about to say something but cut off again. "And I know that you and Ryan, and Jon, and Spencer, will always be there for me if I need to talk, or something." Aleson said already knowing what he was about to say.
Brendon just smiled as he parked the car out of In N Out. "Good to know that we still hold a place in your life." Aleson just smiled back at him.
After eating their breakfast/ lunch, Brendon and Aleson began to walk back out to the car, when Aleson remembered to look at her watch. It said 4 o clock. "Shit!" Aleson said. "What?" "I need to pick up my sister from school, like thirty minutes ago." They drove as fast as they could without getting caught, to the school. Where Mirabella was sitting outside of looking mad. Aleson told Brendon to wait in the car as she walked over to her school.
"Sorry. I lost track of time." Aleson began to apologize to her sister. "What do you mean lost track of time! You know that as soon as you get out of work." "That's the thing. They fired me." Mirabelle looked at her sister with wide eyes. "No. Do they know about dad?" "No, I didn't tell them." "Oh." Mirabelle looked disappointed, but right now Aleson didn't care about Mirabelle's feeling, just about keeping this secret from her friends.
"Look Belle," Aleson began. "You remember Brendon, Ryan, Spencer, and Jon, right. Well they're back in town for a while, and we can't let them find out about dad. Okay." She didn't want to explain why she wanted to hide it from them, or how, she just wanted to hide it from them period. "Brendon is the one driving my car, so lets just act normal okay." "Okay." Mirabelle simply responded as she walked alongside her sister to the car.
"Hey Mirabelle." Brendon said as she climbed into the backseat. "Hey Brendon." she replied back and sat in silence for the rest of the ride.. After dropping Mirabelle at the house, Brendon and Aleson parked the car on the curb and they walked to the tour bus. Once outside the door Aleson froze on the sidewalk.
All the sudden she feared something. She didn't know what, she had just spent the entire day with Brendon, why was she suddenly scared to see the rest of them?
Brendon turned around and saw her standing there frozen. The sunlight hit her face in a way he never noticed. Her brown eyes lightened and became a beautiful hazel, in her brown hair the sunlight brought out the red highlights that she inherited from her mother. Right now in this moment she looked absolutely beautiful to him.
What am I thinking?!! She's my best friend! Brendon thought to himself. But she looked so beautiful. Just do it! his voice said.
With that Brendon let go of the bus door and walked over to Aleson.He grabbed a hold of one of her hands, and with that began to pull her forward towards him. "Brendon what are you doing?" she said being pulled back from her world. "What ever you're hiding from me, you know I'm gonna get it you of you sooner or later." "Yea I know," Aleson said "But I meant what are you doing pulling me like that."
Brendon put his arm around her waist. "Just-"
Before he could do anything the bus door opened and they parted.
"Aleson!" Ryan said excitedly as he climed off the bus, and hugged Aleson, again she winced in pain. But the pain was replaced with / Was Brendon just about to kiss me?/
