A Little Too Far
8 ReviewsArchie and Atlanta are fighting again about the dumbest things. It goes a little too far though this time. A/A story, probably a short one so i wont have much time to update.
Atlanta screamed at the top of her lungs, each word piercing the air with unwanted tension. There was a loud shout returned, and she had nothing to say. She couldn't think of a come back, so she just stormed up to her room, slamming her door shut so hard that anybody would think it was Herry shutting it. She just couldn't stand him sometimes, the nerve that boy had! He was the most childish, immature, selfish, two-faced, back-stabbing jerk in the world! She lay on her bed, and stared around the room. Her eyes were scanning over a picture of her and that childish, immature, selfish, two-faced, back-stabbing jerk. But there was one problem. He was also the sweetest, nicest, funniest, coolest, (not to mention hottest, she thought in her mind) loving guy she'd ever met. She argued with him daily, no, almost hourly, but still she couldn't help but fall in love with him. Her mind wandered to him whenever it wandered. It thought about him whenever she thought, and it was all about him whenever she was all about something. She couldn't get enough of him, and was so confused. He was so complicated, and knew he'd never think twice about going out with her. She had to keep her secret crush a secret. The way secret crushes were supposed to be. She sighed; sometimes he was just so confusing.
In the park, walked the boy whom Atlanta thought so highly of. She never knew that he felt so strongly, so passionately, so intensely about her. She'd never know, because she was way too good for him. She was like a goddess, and he was a servant. He barely deserved to speak her name, let alone go out with her. He had no chance with that beautiful woman, her spiky red hair showing everyone who passed that she was defiant, outgoing, and confident. The way she always spoke her mind whenever she wanted, and how she was so violent, it made him laugh. But then he stopped, it was exactly that they'd been fighting about. He'd said that she always wanted to do the most violent thing first, and she'd thought otherwise. Then the shouting starting and she'd mentioned his so called 'irrational' fear of water. It wasn't an 'irrational' fear, was it? He was so frustrated, so annoyed, so confused and so, in love with her. She always fought such a good battle, but today he'd won when she'd stormed upstairs to her room first. He'd immediately left to take a walk, and ended up here. He could still see the Brownstone from where he now was, but it looked very vague and shaded.
He then looked a little closer, and saw something sitting on the roof. It was dangling off of the edge, when it stood up. HE started running towards it, when it sat back down. It stood up, and sat down once more. It went back and forth for a while, before he saw Atlanta shaking her head and muttering to herself on the roof. Atlanta stood up, and muttered something, when she heard a little shout from the ground. She saw Archie running towards her, and climbing up the eaves trough at a surprisingly fast rate. She didn't even know ho could do that. He reached her and said, "What are you doing?" She just stared at the ground, and sat back down again. "I need something to do, so I was going to try to jump off of the roof. Not kill myself, just see if I could. But I guess, I got, kinda scared." She finished and he sat beside her. They looked at each other, and smiled. They didn't need apologizes, they were friends again.
But then Archie made a big mistake and said, "Humph. It's just like you to do something like that." She looked and said, "Do what?" He answered, "Try and see if you could jump off of a building. I mean, I don't know anyone else that would do that." He meant it as a compliment as to how much daring she showed, but it wasn't taken that way. She had a different perspective of the comment, and the fiery argument started. It went on for at least half an hour, then others inside hearing the whole thing. Then Atlanta did something Archie never imagined she would actually do, but she did. She stood up, and jumped off of the building. Her arms and legs flailing, she looked like something jumping off of an exploding building in an action movie. But this was real. She hit the ground and he thought she was dead, when she stood up shakily and yelled at him, "See! I can do it!"
She then ran into the street, not watching the busy traffic coming straight at her. Then she went as fast as she could, limping and shaking because of the fall. She had landed in a small patch of weeds that almost seemed to cushion her fall slightly, and had lived. But she was in terrible condition and Archie yelled out to her to stop. But she didn't listen and pushed herself so hard, that just as she reached the other side of the road- surprisingly untouched by the cars- she collapsed. Falling to the ground like a paperweight, in one swift motion she was sprawled out on the half dead grass. Archie then did something just as unbelievable, and jumped off in the same spot as she had. But this time, his landing wasn't so lucky.
