Jamie was your average girl
She loved to play was over all pleased
But that's different now
Ever since the night of September 9th
Her life has become a living hell
With one simple choice her life spun downwards
In the hazy skies of the morning Jamie and her mother headed to New York City for a day of shopping
That evening they headed home
Merging on to the express way little did they know that their lives forever would change
Behind them was a fast approaching semi
As the semi drew closer and closer
Jamie saw it
But didn't say anything
Little did she know that semi would take her mothers life
The driver was drunk and angry
His wife has left him
Not caring for anyone
With quick swerve to the right he clipped Jamie's small Honda underneath the semi
The semi began to swerve all over the place
Finally stopping when he slammed into about 6 other cars and a light pole
Jamie then calls out to her mother
"Mom? Mom! Are you still alive?"
Her mom pinned up under all the metal calls out to her young daughter
"Yes Jamie, I am still here. I love you I want you to know that no matter what happens!"
The fire department was slowly getting people out of their cars
Sirens glare people crying
An hour had passed and Jamie and her mother still helplessly trapped
Jamie had gotten a concussion and passed out
A few hours later she woke in a hospital room
She began to scream cry and run out of the room
As she walked out she bumped into a nurse
The nurse took her to her mother
Tangled up with so many wires and tubes streamed out of her mother
Crying at the sight she began to climb upon the bed
Carefully avoiding cords and tubes
Never had she seen he mom look so lifeless
Placing her head on the pillow next to her mothers
She began to talk to her
"Mommy? Can you hear me? What a crash! I love you when can we go home? Are you going to be okay?"
Little did she know that her mom couldn't hear her
Jamie went to sleep next to her mom
But woke abruptly when a loud beep came from a machine
The beep continued the nurses grabbed Jamie and took her out of the room
Jamie stood outside the door
Waiting and wanting to hear he mothers voice
She sat down on the cold tile
A long time passed
The nurses and doctors came out
Jamie was allowed back in
Climbing on the bed she laid down and slept
Around 3 in the morning Jamie's mother woke
Her mother gently woke her
"Jamie honey, I need you to know I love you very much I want you to remember the great times we have had... (Regaining strength she finished) I love you and you know that I will miss you so much I want you to be the woman in the house... I love you go on without me..."
At that moment the Machines began to beep and wale
Jamie began to cry knowing that her mother was dead she clung on to her mother will all he strength
Jamie left the hospital in a daze
It was now mid day of September 10
She went to her grandmother's house her father was at work
He father was a New York firefighter
She went to sleep
The next day she woke to her grandmother with the phone
"Hello?"
"Jamie it's your father, I will be home tonight. I miss you! I love you so much. I have to go the alarms are going off."
Jamie slowly got ready for the day
She headed to the kitchen
A shriek came from the kitchen
Jamie looked at the Television screen her eyes engraved the televisions images into her head
Planes sticking the Twin Towers
Jamie was confused but went on with her business
Too young to comprehend the importance
The day passed slowly
Waiting around for her father
It was getting late
Hours passed no father
No phone calls
Nothing
Nothing but silence
The phone rang
On the other end was a fire fighter from the station
Devastating news broke Jamie completely
Her father had died as the towers fell
They found his body mangled with steel
In his right hand a picture of Jamie and his cross
Jamie is alone in this cold world
Careless people live here
Jamie will never be the same broken at such a young age
Dealing with the deaths of both parents within two days of each other
She has cut her self off from the world
She no longer wishes to be a happy child
Living a world of darkness
She cries
Never happy
Always seen wearing black no bright colors lift her sprit
This girl will rise one day to become a great woman
But without the love of a mother and the compassion of a father
She lives sad and depressed
In a world
Where life goes on
