1Ambiance
Peter loved Anne with all his heart
They married on a cold August day
"You're my sun,
you're my rain,
you're my world all in one"
"You're my beauty, you know", he would say.
But Anne wasn't sure if she married for love
She felt it was just a mistake
A mistake that had lasted about thirteen years
With three kids, and a house by the lake
One winter's day, Peter grew ill
After returning from work on the farm
He told Anne and the kids not to worry about him
"It's just a cold, it'll do no harm"
"Anne, do you love me?" he barely could talk
For the sickness had kept him in bed
She was knelt right beside him, holding his hand
did not answer, but answer he said
Anne thought of what it would be like, with her husband gone
and a tear rolled down to her chin
She whispered "I do", into his ear
She knew it had come from within
Now Peters gone, it was such a great loss
Left were the memories of an honest life
Poor lonely Anne never married again
She still considers herself, Peter's wife
