The First Snow fall

Winds blow with ever more intensity
The icy air hits your face like a wall
Below freezing temperatures
Then all of a sudden
The snow begins to descend
Even though
The wind still blows with all intensity
And the air is still icy
Everything seems calm
The snow falls tranquilly down to the ground
Not making a sound
All is calm
And oh so bright
The first snow fall of the season
Always leaves you with reason
Of hope for yet another to come
With all the rage and joy that winter brings
