You could cut the sexual tension with a flamin' hack saw.
Very funny and a little bit hot.

Ok, first of all: Congrats on managing “awkward funny” so perfectly, Katy. You don’t need help. (Apart from the fact that you’re British, of course…)
On to a more detailed review – because I owe you the world & a sonnet on Trick’s tummy:
I'll go find a ring if you get your panties out of that bunch up your arse!! -> I believe the DoJ should be officially appointed to getting his panties out of his arse. Sorry, to me that thought is kinda sexy.
Patrick watched his Mom's reaction only, knowing she would be the instigator of how this revelation went. -> It’s the law.
/"Hey Mom!" Petra blurted out. Patrick's eyes flew wide and he shot a look at her, this is what it said:
"WTF????"
Here's what her look back said:
"What?...What?!"/ -> I already love the clash between Patrick’s uptightness and Petra’s “I am what I am” attitude. A very promising constellation for more humorous incidents to take place and amuse me.
/The oven chimed and Patrick looked to Petra.
Yeah, wife, you should prolly go see to that... his eyes advised her./ -> Despite the fact that this is a new side of Patrick, the way you write him seems to be in line with his real character (or at least, what I think to be his character): Little boy is afraid to piss off his mother. I can so see this scene happening.
"It's just, I feel like I'm watching something from a horrible sitcom." He said, a little pissed. -> Is it a British sitcom? ;) Ah, what does he know?!
/"Are you checking me out?" she asked, he looked mortified as she leaned on the worktop with one hand.
"No!"
"Why not?? I look good don't I?" She frowned.
"Yes! I mean - You look, I wasn't, er." He stopped and ruffled the back of his head./ -> That’s the good stuff. That’s the kind of situation Patrick ought to get into 24/7. :)
/"Bitch!" he gasped at her.
She smiled proudly and put another mouthful of food in her mouth.
"Go write music about it." She said as he walked away.
"You're a shit wife!" he called as he left the kitchen.
"Yeah well, you're crap in bed!!" she shouted back.
He turned and looked at her.
"How do you know?"
"I don't, I'm just hoping, cos then I'll think I'm not missing out on much." She said, he smirked and laughed. / -> See previous comment.
The way Patrick told her about his being gone for a few days was very apt, I think. They do have these silly kidding around moments but yet, they don’t really know each other (like AT ALL, I have the feeling).
This chapter was great to read, Katy. You know you have a lot of things in you and when it comes to writing, you can pull off all layers of human emotions. (And make me feel them.)Author's response
