i suck so much at summaries.. soo...just read.
Frank is such an asshole when he's drunk. It becomes a vicious cycle. He drinks which makes me want to drink and then we both end up totally wasted. I don't even know why I bother to go to parties with him. I decided that the best way not to get alcohol poisoning was leave the room and find someone else to hang around. I did have to find out what was bugging Gerard. I wandered down the hallway, peeking in each room as I went. I finally found him, either passed out or sleeping on a bed in the spare room upstairs.
I sat down next to him and pushed his hair off of his face. His eyes snapped open. "Holy shit, Evan, you scared the fuck outta me."
I laughed slightly, "I just wanted to come talk to you, maybe you can tell me what's bothering you?" Amazing. I got through that whole thing without slurring or tripping on my words! Yay me.
"Evan...I have to work out my own shit, I don't need anyone's help." he said.
I laid down next to him and propped my head up on my hand. "It's okay to ask for help. Except.. You're not really asking.. I'm kinda doing it cause I know something is bothering you. Is it bad to force help on someone?"
He laughed at my alcohol-induced babbling., "No, it's fine."
"Well tell me-"
"It's you Evan. I like you...a lot. Way more than I should."
This hit me like a brick in the face, "W-what...b- I'm with..."
He sighed. "I know..."
There was a knock at the door followed by Frank stumbling in. "Evan...cab's here."
I stared at him, confused, "I don't want to go yet."
He walked toward me and grabbed my wrist, rather violently. "We're going, now"
"Frank! Let go!" I turned my head and gave a quick look of desperation to Gerard. Apparently he didn't know this side of his friend. He looked shocked. He stood up and pulled once quickly and painfully on my arm, covering me in a protective embrace, causing Frank to lose his balance and fall into the doorframe, cracking his head pretty hard.
I suddenly got really worried. I pulled from Gerard's grip and rushed over to him. "Oh my god, Frank are you okay?" I said, checking to see if he was still conscious. I kissed his check and lightly tapped him, in an attempt to wake him up.
Gerard just stared at me in confusion. "Evan he was just hurting you, why are you helping him?"
I shot him a look. "Just never mind, it's none of your business." He finally came to. "Oh my god, are you okay baby?"
"I'm going home are you coming?" he said bluntly.
"I'll catch a cab later baby." she said, helping him up.
He dismissed everything that had just happened, and kissed me. "Okay, bye,"
I watched as he walked out of the room and down the hall.
Evan leaned against the doorframe, and I could hear small sobs escape her lungs sharply.
"He tried to hurt you Evan and you just ran to him. Why?" I asked. She turned to look at me, her watery eyes gleaming in the dim light. Her eyes were essentially what made me fall in love with her. I remember the first time she looked at me with those icy blues...I still remember that energy that flowed through me. I hope I never forget.
She walked toward me and collapsed into my arms. "I...love him. You wouldn't understand."
"I wouldn't understand?" I repeated. "Why is that? Because I don't love anybody?"
"I know it may seem like I'm incapable of love but, in case you haven't noticed, I love /you,/,"
She stood in front of me, her eyes shining as she gazed into mine. My arms were still around her. She pulled me closer to her. "You have to help me end this,"
"Help you do what? Its simple. Tell him its over."
More sobs escaped her, and tears began to roll down her cheeks and on to my shirt. "Its not that easy Gerard, you saw what happened when I didn't want to leave with him. Do you have any idea what would happen if I told him I wanted to break up?"
"You mean, he's not just like this when he's drunk?"
She shook her head.
"Here Evan come lay down. I think you should sleep," I said, ushering her to the bed. She laid down and I sat next to her, pushing her hair off her face as she wept.
"I've never told anyone before," she said quietly.
I nodded, "I'm glad you did." I said. Her make-up was running, revealing a faint purple outline around her eye. I ran my thumb across it and she flinched. "We're gonna do something about this Evan, I promise." I cupped my hand around her cheek, and planted a soft kiss on her lips.
"Can I stay here tonight... with you?" she whispered.
