-1Predictable
I sat down to sleep,
by the lake one day.
I had just dosed off,
when I heard a teeny voice say.
"Help! help, I'm stuck in gum!"
I looked down to find a bitty mouse,
smaller than my thumb.

I freed him and he took a bow,
he said to me.
"Oh thank you fair maiden,
for setting me free."
He told me that he was a mouse king,
he had wealth and power galore.
Than he gave me a tiny ring.

He told me that if I ever needed his assistance,
just to take the ring in my hand.
That he would come to aid me,
from his distant land.

Than he scampered off,
and I put the ring away.
Forgetting about it,
and about that day.

But than I was abducted by a dragon,
no one could help me across the land.
I found the ring in my pocket,
and held it in my hand.
The mouse king heard my call,
and came to my aid.

He fought with the dragon,
and it was slew.
Than he said to me,
very plainly,
I helped you.
Like you helped me.

The lesson is simple,
the meaning is clear.
A friend in need,
is a friend indeed.
Help everyone,
they could one day help you.
