Angst in the dojo and a happy ending - sort of...this is a pre-series one-shot that takes place before Jin leaves the Mujuu dojo. The main character is Yukimaru, who only appears in one ep. of the ...

Author\'s Response: that's incredibly kind of you to say. it DOES seem kind of likely, doesn't it, given yukimaru's hero-worship of jin in the anime. thank you very much for reading and responding. i love these characters...
- This is lovely stuff--I'm picky about my J/Y fic, and I think this one's great. Elegant use of language and just enough subtle hotness and longing to make it tingle. Neat.
(Btw, elsewhere I'm Mariphasa Hecatene.)
Author\'s Response: thank you - i'm convinced the makers of the anime created yukimaru solely for slash purposes grin he's quite irresistable, and inventing a past and a personality for him has been a great pleasure. i'm very glad it seemed right to you.
(#) extension_of_sandess 2006-01-28 10:48:44 PMlanguage and structure is often sacrificed for content in fanfic...it really is fantasy, the fantasy of fans, of what if and what might have been. and while there is nothing wrong with this (for all of us need a place to tell our stories, however imperfect they may be), it is a balm to have someone use language so subtly, so skillfuly that the story is told, not with the actual words, but with the spaces between the words. The brief bit of poetry that you've done (for i consider it so) is tight, well-focused and rouses a reader's tender sympathy with almost a butterfly touch.
