Determination

I was told that I had to be silent,
I stood up and yelled louder.
They tried to say what I couldn't do,
I did it anyway.
My freedoms were taken away,
I took them back.
I will not stand,
For being oppressed.
I will fight,
And I will win.
They are strong,
But I am stronger.
My life is my own,
And no one else's.
I am determined,
That I will not fall.
Nothing can be taken from me,
That I don't freely give.
I will struggle against,
Those who seek to bring me down.
And I will die,
For what I believe.
I will not back away from this fight.
