“Come on Seth, this will be the first time we will be together alone! You know I’ve been trying to get away for ages. Work is just getting too much, I need a break!” Sophie whinged
“Yeah I know, but I’m just worried about being out there alone! Does that sound smart to you?” Seth replied
“Don’t be a whimp Seth, you’re meant to be the man in this relationship and the way you’re carrying on it sound as if I wear the pants! I really want to go! Be a man! PLEASE!”
“Fine but we have to take someone else it can’t just be the two of us!”
“What? How can we be alone if we’re sharing a tent with someone??
“Well we could always take Jake and Katie they’ll to busy making googly eyes at each other, and they’ll want there own tent.
“Um… Ok then but it has to be just the two of us for most of the time ok, all there won’t be much point in us going!”
“Hey man, how’s things? Do you think you and Katie would like to come camping this weekend?” asked Seth. “It’s a long weekend and Sophie really needs the break” Seth continued
“Yeah, dude I’m happy to tag along and I’m sure Katie would love it” answered Jake
The next day Jake and Katie turned up on at Seth’s doorstep wondering where they were!
“Dude, what’s going on, why aren’t you ready?” asked Jake
“I don’t think we should go anymore, I don’t won’t to put Sophie in Danger!” answered Seth
“Don’t even worry about it! There’s very little chance of us getting hurt! Plus Katie’s really looking forward to going and you know that I don’t like disappointing her, come on Dude! Be a man!”
“Why does everyone keep saying that?”
As they all packed the car Seth still wasn’t sure about going but he put on a brave face for Sophie, he didn’t want to ruin her weekend.
When they got to Palm Springs camping resort Sophie noticed that Jake wasn’t saying anything but merely starring at her, every now and again he would look her up and down then continue staring right into her eyes.
“So guys, aren’t you exited that we’re here finally?” asked Seth
Im so tired, so guys could you hurry up with the tent!” Katie answered
“What? Katie you’re helping to! You can’t just expect us to do it all!” Sophie argued
“Just watch me! Hey Hun, im not feeling the best?” she said putting the puppy dog eyes on
“Oh babe, don’t even worry about setting up the tent, I can do it for you!”
“Ohhh, thanks honey-bear”
After it got dark, you could hear the sounds of nature at all its glory, that was until it was interrupted by faint footsteps, they were getting louder and louder until they were right outside the tent door, and then there was silence.
“Seth, did you here something?” Sophie asked
“Babe it’s just Jake or Katie! Hello?.... Jake?.... Katie?.... If there is someone out there please say something” Seth demanded.
No one answered him; instead all you could hear was deep breathing, coming from outside their door. All of a sudden the zipper started slowly unzipping, Seth hugged Sophie as tight as he could but he was still terrified him self! When the zipper got to the top, suddenly Jake’s head appeared.
“Hey guys are you awake? I’ve run out of Food because Katie ate all of ours, and she’s still hungry!” whispered Jake
“Jake you idiot! You Scared the hell out of Sophie, why didn’t you answer me when I called out who was there?” asked Seth
“I don’t know, I didn’t hear you I guess, so how about that Food? I’m desperate!
“Um… yeah, here dude”
“Next time do you think you could have the courtesy to give us some warning, what would have happened if we didn’t hear you? You could have really scared us, then what would you have said?” Sophie interrupted
“Sorry dude I thought you might have been asleep”
With that he was gone and then there was silence again.
They start kissing but they still weren’t sure about something! Maybe Jake was still outside!
“Well, I’m going to go to the toilet but when I come back we can go to sleep” explained Sophie
“Do you want me to come with you?”
“Nah its ok I’ll be fine!”
“Ok, goodnight, I might be asleep by the time you come back.”
While Sophie left the tent she wasn’t very happy about going alone, and she was very jumpy!
When she got to the toilets she noticed that only one was left, and she wouldn’t go in there if her life depended on it, the last person who went in there was not well!
“Hey guys, I was wondering how long you think you would be? I really need to go!”
There was no answer!
“Hello… hello…”
Then she looked under the door and she couldn’t see any feet so she tried to open the doors but they where defiantly locked, no matter what she did the doors wouldn’t budge, so she took some of the toilet paper from the trashed toilet and decided to go into the woods. When she found the perfect spot, she proceeded to go! After a while she heard a scream coming from the tent site! It freaked her out so she tried to rush herself, but it was when the foot steps started she couldn’t wait to finish! She quickly pulled up her pants and hid behind a dead tree stump! Again the footsteps got louder and louder, and she freaked out and began running and so did the figure, closely following her!
She continued to run but she didn’t dare look behind her, just in case she tripped and that would be the end of her!
She started to get tired and she could feel it closing in on her and she knew she couldn’t ran for much longer, so she had to find a way of loosing the shadow.
When she finally looked behind her, no one was there! It was just darkness, she was so far away from the camp site that the flood lights didn’t reach this far out! she was so tired she had to sit down, after about two minutes she heard the same sound that been haunting her excepted this time it sounded as if she was surrounded, she had no way of getting away this time! When the foot steps got louder she could hear a faint voice.
“I’ve got you now! There is no way you can get away now, is there! I’m gunna make you pay for what you’ve done! I’ve got you now”
It got louder and louder until it was as if it was right next to her, but all she could say back was, “Why me?”, after that, it went silent again, the only thing you could hear was Sophie’s whimpering.
“I’ve got you now, Sophie! Babe, it’s ok? But what are you doing out here?” Seth asked worryingly.
“What’s going on? Where am I?” Confusingly Sophie answered
“You’re in the middle of the woods; I’ve been looking for you all night! Are you ok? We have to get you to a doctor you’re bleeding all over, what happened?”
Um… All I can remember is going to the toilet! It a total blank up until now! What’s wrong with me?”
“Well babe you’ve just got some cuts on your legs, some of them might need stiches!”
“Hey guys, Jake’s missing too, can’t find him anywhere! What do we do?” Katie said almost frighten.
“We can sort that out after we get Sophie out of these woods!” Seth answered
After they got Sophie out of the woods and into a car, She was a little less freaked out, the only thing that freaked her out was little flash backs that keep coming up every time she looked into the woods! After everything was packed up and the only person to get into the car was Jake, Sophie started to feel a little worried about Jakes well-being and the Flash backs started getting longer and longer. Then suddenly she heard a familiar voice that chilled down her spine, she just couldn’t remember where she had heard it before. All of a sudden all the flash backs joined into one big reel of film and Sophie remembered it all, after it went all she could picture was a face, one single face that wouldn’t go away! She knew this face very well so it made it easier to see all the marks and colours which made it harder to think about it. The face was now frightening!
“Guys what happened last night? How come I ended up in the woods, with scratches all over my legs? The last thing I remember going in to your tent asking for some food, what ever happened next is a blur!” complained Jake.
“OH MY GOD Jake where have you been? I’ve been worried sick all last night and all morning!” Katie blabbed.
All though no one knew, Sophie was freaking out in the front seat just thinking about why Jake would want to hurt her, what did she do to him? Then she remembered a party she went to about two years ago, where she first met Jake! She was a bit tipsy but she still knew what she was doing, she was standing next to the drinks when Jake came over to her, he had the sort of look in his face where he made you feel uncomfortable because you knew why he was walking over to you!
“Hey, where have you been all my life?” he asked with a large grin on his face.
“Trying to avoid you!” she answered
Then she walked away, she didn’t care if she’d hurt his feeling as far as she knew she’d never see him again, how very wrong she was! Later that night she met this really hot guy who was so cool and really funny, anyway one thing lead to another and she ended up making out with him, that’s when Jake walked in! he didn’t have a very happy look on his face, what made it worst was that she found out it was Jake’s cousin and they were like best friends, she cant help that jakes ugly and Matt was really hot! That was it; he hated her because she rejected him for his REALLY hot cousin!
They all got into the car, but Sophie didn’t say a word.
“Hun, are you okay?” asked Seth
Sophie didn’t answer
“Are you alright babe?”
“IM FINE, just leave me alone” Sophie answered
“What’s the matter, babe” he went on
“Nothing you would believe so just get off my back!” she replied.
“Babe, you don’t have to be scared none of us are out to get you!”

The car trip seemed like it went for ever. Sophie felt so uncomfortable the whole time. She felt as if the was a Gun pointing right into the back of her head, and as if someone was staring right at her, she could feel the heat burning into the back of her head.
“Has anyone got a drink of water?” Sophie asked
All of a sudden a bottle of water appeared beside her head. Without another thought she grabbed it and took a long slow sip from it.
“Yuck, this tastes weird!” Sophie said in disgust
“Sorry, it’s been sitting in the sun all morning!” Katie reassured her
So Sophie didn’t even take another thought, she just continued to drink.
Not to long after she notice that she feeling of eyes on the back of her neck hadn’t gone away, she couldn’t take it anymore she turned around and there was Jake looking right at her and not blinking.
“How are you feeling? Are you getting tired? Are you feeling ok?” he asked without letting her answer!
“Yer, im fine” she answered
But she lied, she really was feeling tired but she wasn’t going to tell the person who tried to kill her that!
About two minutes later she could hardly keep her eyes open, she kept thinking; I have to stay awake! If I don’t I’ll never wake up! It’ll be the end! I‘ll never have children and never watch those children go up!
I’ll just close my eyes for a minute then ill be fine, she thought to herself.
The next time she opened her eyes she wasn’t in the car, in fact she had no idea where she was! The room was pitch black and there was no way in telling what was around her!
“Jake?... where are you? Are you in here? Why are you doing this?” she whimpered
There was once again no answer!
“Why are you doing this Jake?”
“Why am I doing this? Why don’t you ask yourself that question! Or maybe I should ask you why you’ve been cheating on me! And maybe I should ask you why you would just assume that it was Jake!” said and angry sounding voice
All of a sudden a light appeared in the form of a torch and it made Sophie jump. It took a while for her eyes to adjust but when they did she could she the person as clearly as if it was daytime.
“Why? Why would you do this? I’ve never done anything to you! Why would you do this to me?” Sophie asked
“Why? What, so now your denying your relationship with Jake! But before you made it so obvious! I could see the way he looked at you! With the love! And now you’re denying it! Typical! It made me so jealous watching him stare at you, and the way you used to get all embarrassed! I’m not stupid!” Katie answered
“But I’d never had a relationship with Jake the only reason I acted weird around him is because I thought he was the one that was trying to hurt me! Not you, I didn’t even think twice about you trying to hurt me! I thought you were my friend! Im sorry Katie if you thought Jake and I were cheating on you! Im your friend and I love Seth!” Sophie answered
“Whatever! You expect me to believe you! Not after what you did to me! You little Whore! One man was never enough for you was it, especially during high school! You were always known as the tart! Everyone thought you were so easy! And you were! No matter how nerdy or ugly my boyfriend was you always cheated with them!
“No I didn’t, you just walked in on them kissing me and that only happened twice! Im sorry! Sophie answered
“Im not listening to your lies anymore! But I did have you fooled didn’t I,” laughed Katie

“You thought Jake was trying to kill you! That’s exactly what I wanted! You Forget Sophie, im training to be a movie director!”
“Yer but it was his voice I heard out in the woods!”
“I know, how amazing today’s technology is! You can voice record some one when they don’t even know! HA
“And when he woke up in the woods this morning?”
“I got him drunk last night so he was completely out of it!”
“Then why was he asking me how I felt?”
“Cause I told him to! And he does everything I tell him to!”
“What was in that water?”
“Any kind of drug I could find in that first aid kit! You actually weren’t meant to wake up! But sometimes things don’t go the way you plan”
“And how come it was his face I remember his face in the woods?”
“Because your minds making you think what you believe.”
“I thought I was your friend Katie!”
“Me too! But people can fool you!”
“Well what are you going to do with me?” asked Sophie worryingly
“Well I have no choice but to kill you!”
“Please Katie! Please don’t! I won’t say anything! You’re my friend!”
“Yeah like im going to believe you! I’ve seen movie where the victims has said that! But they always do, it’s the first thing they do!”
“I swear on my life!”
“Well that’s not going to be worth anything in a minute”
Katie reaches for her backpack and pulls out a noose and begins to tie it around a pipe on the roof.
“You made me suffer so im going to make you suffer! You won’t have the privilege of sudden death” Katie said with a look of anger on her face.
“Please Katie; you don’t have to do this! I beg you, just let me go and that will be the end of it!”
“I really wish I could believe you but the fact of the matter is, I don’t! Good bye Sophie”
With that Katie picked Sophie up and placed her under the hanging noose. She placed the rope around her neck and pulled it tight!
“Goodbye”
“NO!! Please don’t”
When Seth and Jake ran in the room it was pitch black again, Jake got out his phone and turned the light on which was enough to light most of the room. It was empty except for a figure hovering in the middle of the room, when Seth walked over to it he realised who it was and felt sick to his stomach.
“Oh God No! Why would she do this? I know she was mixed up but to take her own life just isn’t something she would do, I guess I was wrong!” said Seth in disgust
“Hello, is anyone else in here? Hello?” yelled Jake
No one answered for a while, but after a minute or so, they heard a quiet and hoarse “Help” coming from the far corner.
“Katie? Is that you?” wondered Seth
“Please help me!” they answered
Seth and Jake ran as fast as they could in the direction of which the voice was coming from to find Katie blind folded in a cold and wet cage no bigger than she was.
“Honey what happened?” asked Jake while unlocking the cage
“Jake is that you? Thank god you’re here! Did you get here in time to stop Soph?” Katie asked in near tears
“No! We were too late!” answered Seth
“That poor girl!” Katie went on
“Katie what Happened? When we came back from the toilets at the servo you guys were gone and you took the car!” Jake asked
“Well when you guys left, Sophie woke up and all of a sudden she was a different person she told me to sit down and shut up otherwise she’d kill me, we drove off, then she pulled off the road after about thirty minutes and put a blind fold on me, so from then on a had no idea where we were going, when the car finally stop she got out and pulled me out by my hair and dragged me into this room and put me in this cage and then it went silent! After about ten minutes of me yelling out her name my throat got sore so I stop! Then finally she started talking! She told how she hated her life and how she had been planning coming out here for weeks she wanted me to come so that I had to watch her take her own life because that I had been a big part of making it hell because she was jealous of me going out with Jake and that she had loved him ever since that party! The only reason she was with you Seth was to get back at Jake for choosing me and not her! And she wanted me to tell you Seth that she was sorry for using you! But at the end she had grown close to really loving you, but Jake was always the love of her life and always will be! And then it went quiet; the only thing I heard was the sound of her neck breaking and her gasping for breath! And then I went blank until just now!” Katie explained
And that was the end! Seth would never get the image of Sophie’s limp and lifeless body merely hanging in the middle of that horrible and dirty room and he will always think his relationship was a lie. Jake will always think that Sophie loved him and will always regret not making a move, because ever since that party was he was never able to stop thinking about her! And Katie will never get over the fact she got away with murder!
As they left that dark and wet room Katie couldn’t help but smile, the room that they were leaving behind was gradually becoming dark once again and like Sophie’s life would never be lit up again.

It made me so jealous watching him stare at you, and the way you used to get all embarrassed! I’m not stupid!” Katie answered
“But I’d never had a relationship with Jake the only reason I acted weird around him is because I thought he was the one that was trying to hurt me! Not you, I didn’t even think twice about you trying to hurt me! I thought you were my friend! Im sorry Katie if you thought Jake and I were cheating on you! Im your friend and I love Seth!” Sophie answered
“Whatever! You expect me to believe you! Not after what you did to me! You little Whore! One man was never enough for you was it, especially during high school! You were always known as the tart! Everyone thought you were so easy! And you were! No matter how nerdy or ugly my boyfriend was you always cheated with them!
“No I didn’t, you just walked in on them kissing me and that only happened twice! Im sorry! Sophie answered
“Im not listening to your lies anymore! But I did have you fooled didn’t I,” laughed Katie
“What do you mean?” asked Sophie
“You thought Jake was trying to kill you! That’s exactly what I wanted! You Forget Sophie, im training to be a movie director!”
“Yer but it was his voice I heard out in the woods!”
“I know, how amazing today’s technology is! You can voice record some one when they don’t even know! HA
“And when he woke up in the woods this morning?”
“I got him drunk last night so he was completely out of it!”
“Then why was he asking me how I felt?”
“Cause I told him to! And he does everything I tell him to!”
“What was in that water?”
“Any kind of drug I could find in that first aid kit! You actually weren’t meant to wake up! But sometimes things don’t go the way you plan”
“And how come it was his face I remember his face in the woods?”
“Because your minds making you think what you believe.”
“I thought I was your friend Katie!”
“Me too! But people can fool you!”
“Well what are you going to do with me?” asked Sophie worryingly
“Well I have no choice but to kill you!”
“Please Katie! Please don’t! I won’t say anything! You’re my friend!”
“Yeah like im going to believe you! I’ve seen movie where the victims has said that! But they always do, it’s the first thing they do!”
“I swear on my life!”
“Well that’s not going to be worth anything in a minute”
Katie reaches for her backpack and pulls out a noose and begins to tie it around a pipe on the roof.
“You made me suffer so im going to make you suffer! You won’t have the privilege of sudden death” Katie said with a look of anger on her face.
“Please Katie; you don’t have to do this! I beg you, just let me go and that will be the end of it!”
“I really wish I could believe you but the fact of the matter is, I don’t! Good bye Sophie”
With that Katie picked Sophie up and placed her under the hanging noose. She placed the rope around her neck and pulled it tight!
“Goodbye”
“NO!! Please don’t”
When Seth and Jake ran in the room it was pitch black again, Jake got out his phone and turned the light on which was enough to light most of the room. It was empty except for a figure hovering in the middle of the room, when Seth walked over to it he realised who it was and felt sick to his stomach.
“Oh God No! Why would she do this? I know she was mixed up but to take her own life just isn’t something she would do, I guess I was wrong!” said Seth in disgust
“Hello, is anyone else in here? Hello?” yelled Jake
No one answered for a while, but after a minute or so, they heard a quiet and hoarse “Help” coming from the far corner.
“Katie? Is that you?” wondered Seth
“Please help me!” they answered
Seth and Jake ran as fast as they could in the direction of which the voice was coming from to find Katie blind folded in a cold and wet cage no bigger than she was.
“Honey what happened?” asked Jake while unlocking the cage
“Jake is that you? Thank god you’re here! Did you get here in time to stop Soph?” Katie asked in near tears
“No! We were too late!” answered Seth
“That poor girl!” Katie went on
“Katie what Happened? When we came back from the toilets at the servo you guys were gone and you took the car!” Jake asked
“Well when you guys left, Sophie woke up and all of a sudden she was a different person she told me to sit down and shut up otherwise she’d kill me, we drove off, then she pulled off the road after about thirty minutes and put a blind fold on me, so from then on a had no idea where we were going, when the car finally stop she got out and pulled me out by my hair and dragged me into this room and put me in this cage and then it went silent! After about ten minutes of me yelling out her name my throat got sore so I stop! Then finally she started talking! She told how she hated her life and how she had been planning coming out here for weeks she wanted me to come so that I had to watch her take her own life because that I had been a big part of making it hell because she was jealous of me going out with Jake and that she had loved him ever since that party! The only reason she was with you Seth was to get back at Jake for choosing me and not her! And she wanted me to tell you Seth that she was sorry for using you! But at the end she had grown close to really loving you, but Jake was always the love of her life and always will be! And then it went quiet; the only thing I heard was the sound of her neck breaking and her gasping for breath! And then I went blank until just now!” Katie explained
And that was the end! Seth would never get the image of Sophie’s limp and lifeless body merely hanging in the middle of that horrible and dirty room and he will always think his relationship was a lie. Jake will always think that Sophie loved him and will always regret not making a move, because ever since that party was he was never able to stop thinking about her! And Katie will never get over the fact she got away with murder!
As they left that dark and wet room Katie couldn’t help but smile, the room that they were leaving behind was gradually becoming dark once again and like Sophie’s life would never be lit up again.
