I sat on a white stool in the middle of a white room. What happened? I was arguing with Gerard and the next thing I know, I'm in this white room. My head hurts so I must've hit it off something. I'm not wearing what I was wearing before. Before I was wearing a black mini skirt and I black vest, now I'm wearing nothing but a white gown. The kind of gowns you would find in hospitals.

Hang on a sec. Am I dead?

That's when it all came back to me.

Gerard and I were at Steven's house getting high. Steven is our pot supplier. Anyway, we were getting high and Gerard and I started to fight. I was so high I'm not even sure what the fight was about. I think I tripped and fell down the stairs.

So now, I was either dead or just unconscious. The thing is, I can't be dead. And if I am, this is one boring after life.

Thinking about Gerard now makes me think about our relationship. I wouldn't really call it a relationship. We had been together three years and all we've done is fuck and get high. I wanted to tell him I loved him but I've never plucked up the courage to say it.

Now that I may be dead, I want to say it more that ever.

"Lola baby, can you hear me?"
I can hear you Gerard! I'm not dead! I'm not dead!
"If you can hear me Lola, I want you to know something..."
What? What do you want me to know?
"I want you to know, that I love you. Please don't die. Lola, I need you. I don't want our relationship to just be drugs and sex."
I love you too Gerard! I need you too! God damn it! Why won't I wake up?
"Please Lola, wake up. Wake up for me."
I'll try Gerard. I'll try for you.

I slowly opened my eyes. I looked at my surroundings, taking every detail in. I felt someone gripping my hand tightly.

"Gerard?" I whispered. Gerard lifted his head and blinked a few times. He always blinks after sleeping deeply.
"Lola?" He asked. "Oh my God Lola! You're awake!!" I nodded while he kissed my hand. I tried to sit up but every inch of my body hurt.
"Ow. What happened exactly?" I asked. Tears slowly started to fall from Gerard's beautiful hazel eyes. "Gerard? Why are you crying?"
"Lola I.....I think I.....pushed you down the stairs." He stuttered. I shook my head slowly as tear welled up in my eyes.
"No Gerard. Don't ever think that. I don't remember much about what happened but I do remember tripping over something. We were high, neither of us will remember fully." I said firmly.
"But Steven said he saw me push you." Gerard sobbed.
"Steven's a dick and he was higher than both of us put together. He'll say anything to get you in trouble." I reached and stroked Gerard's cheek.
"Lola, I...." Gerard started.
"What is it Gerard?" I whispered.
"I love you." He finally said. My heart skipped a beat.
"I love you too Gerard. More than anything." A smile grew on his face as he came closer to kiss me deeply. Deeply and filled with passion.

Our kiss was interrupted by a nurse coming in the room.
"Oh good Mrs. Way you're awake." She said sweetly. "We just need to run a few tests and then you can go." I nodded and turned to Gerard, who shrugged sheepishly.
"Mrs. Way?" I smirked.
"Well I said my name was Gerard Way and they assumed you were my wife." Gerard said sheepishly.
"Mrs. Way" I said again. Gerard smiled at me and kissed my hand.
"Maybe not just now. First, have some stuff to sort out." Gerard said being a little more serious. I nodded understandingly as another person came in the room.

Steven. What's he doing here? He doesn't care about me or Gerard.

"Lola, honey! You're alive!" He exclaimed, obviously high.
"Steven get out of here." I said quietly.
"It was Gerard who pushed you, not me. Shouldn't he leave?" I looked at Gerard. He looked at me hurt and with tears, once again falling down his face.
"Fuck off Steven!" I said getting louder, hopefully someone would hear me.
"No." Steven said simply. "Gerard..."
"GERARD DID NOTHING!! NOW IF YOU DON'T GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE I'LL MAKE YOU GET OUT!!" I shrieked. Steven took the hint and left, slamming the door on his way out.
I looked at Gerard and smiled. I tried to sit up again but failed. "Why does it hurt?" I whined.
"What do I look like? A doctor?" Gerard joked.
"I don't like hospitals." I said quietly looking around the room.
"I don't seeing you in hospital." Gerard mumbled.
"I know. When the nurse comes back I'll ask if I can leave, Okay?" Gerard nodded and laid his head on my leg. I stroked his slightly greasy, dark hair.

After a while the nurse came back. "You have no internal injuries, you might have a bit of a head ached and you're back will hurt for a while but we'll give you some pain killers for that." She said looking at her clipboard a few times.
"Does that mean I can leave?" I asked quickly.
"Yeah. I'll just run and fetch you're clothes." She left and cheered.
"YAY!! I can go home!" I sang. Gerard laughed and kissed my hand once more. The nurse came back and handed me my clothes. I started to undress when Gerard announced he was going to get some coffee. I was left by myself to get dressed. I struggled at first but was okay once I stood up. While I was getting dressed I started thinking. I had a feeling that within a week we'll be back to getting high with Steven. I had to stop it. I finished getting dressed and sat on the edge of the bed. Gerard came back with two cups of coffee. He handed one to me and smiled.
"Gerard?"
"Yeah baby?"
"Will we start getting high later on?" I asked. God, I sounded like an eight year old. Gerard shook his head.
"No Lola. We're not going to be getting high anymore. We're giving it up. Even if that means checking into a rehab centre." I smiled wider than ever.
"Thank you Gerard." I whispered and took a sip if my coffee. Gerard took my hand and led me to the door. I picked up my medication from the nurse and we left the hospital. Hamd in hand.

As it should be.
