0 ReviewsWell, this is my AkuRoku fanfic, u might not want to read it on the spot cause this is an attachment for DevianArt. Waaay, into the story.
Roxas immediately climbed off Axel and ran to Emiko who was holding the child while Axel ran for ice. Emiko had run in and slammed the door so hard now Roxas's ears burned. He saw Emiko had a bruise on her temple.
"Are you okay?!" Roxas examined Emiko. "What-who... I"
"I need ice!" Emiko said sternly and Axel came with it. She sat down on the couch with the now whimpering child. "I, I can explain." She looked up at Axel and Roxas with tired eyes.
"Well, I arrived here 30 minutes ago. I was coming up the steps when I heard yelling, turns out that couple up stairs: they're heavy drug users. They obviously were high, and screaming at each other. Well, they have a daughter, well, I walked in just as the girl was begging the father to stop and he, he punched her... at first I was appalled. I knew I HAD to do something or this child might have been killed. So, I started yelling at them... I was able to grab the child but erm... the father got a little aggressive and well... well, thats how I got this bruise."
Emiko finished and Axel looked over at the little girl. She had auburn hair, tanned skin, dark eyes wide and frightened. She was wearing a tattered dress and didn't look older than five. She was covered in bruises and scabs. Probably from being beaten... she was quietly whimpering and looking at Axel with an expression of horror. She was clutching a stuffed cat that looked just as dirty as she did. Axel felt a stab at his innards. That was probably what he looked like when he had been a boy. The read head could see Roxas's eyes as well: his were full of pain.
"We should call the police." Axel said finally. That was thew wrong move. At this the girl began to cry harder and clung to Emiko's uniform. Emiko patted the girl gently.
"Lets just get through one thing at a time." She said quietly and Axel heard a hint of pain in her voise too.
