I spin under the stormy clouds and laughed
Until I forgot I was supposed to be crying.
The song of the skies is hard rock
And its bass pounds loudly on both my ears.
I swim in the lovely harmonies
And bask in the melody’s smile.
The guitar solo is hypnotizing
And my eyes went out of focus for a second,
My mind drifting over to the last time I saw him.
Memories slid back into my head so stealthily,
Yet so surprisingly fast.
I stop spinning and fall back down to the sky,
The grass loomed above me
And then the world tipped sideways.
The sky cried harder with me then,
And I felt its tears covering me like a blanket of comfort
I silently thanked the storm
For taking me in and giving me a steaming cup of coffee,
And music to drown my misery in
Thank you for your hospitality,
I’ll remember you forever,
My hiding place,
My saving grace,
My “sunshine in the dark”.
