“Wait, what?”

Mikey giggled softly. “I’m pregnant, Gee.”

Gerard ran a hand through his hair, setting his coffee down. “I thought that was what you said.” He stood up and pulled Mikey in for an embrace, rubbing his stomach. “You have any idea how far along you are?”

“Not long, actually,” Mikey replied. “In fact, the last time Justin and I had sex without protection was about a week and a half ago. We’ve been busy making a few final preparations for the album, so I haven’t had the chance to check until last night.”

“Well, congratulations, you two,” Lindsey said, pulling her brother-in-law into a hug, kissing his cheek.

Mikey looked over at Justin, who stood up. Mikey kissed him softly before asking, “Just… do you want to keep it?”

At this, Justin smiled. “Of course I do, Mikey. I want nothing more than to start a family of our own.” Justin pulled Mikey close, kissing his temple. “I love you, baby.”

Mikey rested his head on Justin’s shoulder. “I love you, too, Just.”

Lindsey and Gerard each talked with Justin and Mikey separately, explaining what would happen through the next nine months. Everything from hormones and morning sickness to cravings and actually giving birth were covered, which left the couple feeling a bit overwhelmed.

“If you guys have any questions, feel free to call us up,” Gerard said, pulling Mikey into an embrace. “I know how nerve-wracking this can be. I promise you, though, it’s worth it.” He kissed Mikey’s forehead, grinning. “I love you, kiddo. I’ll talk to you later, okay?”

Mikey nodded, smiling at his brother. Gerard gave him one final squeeze before he, Lindsey, and Bandit left. As soon as they were gone, Mikey let out a sigh.

“What’s wrong, Mikes?” Justin asked, kissing Mikey’s cheek.

Mikey rested his head on Justin’s shoulder. “I’m really nervous about this, Justin. I mean, I’m really excited about the baby and all, but…”

“You’re doubting yourself as a parent, aren’t you?” Justin asked, wrapping his arms around Mikey when the latter nodded. He pressed a kiss to the side of his neck and sighed. “Mikey, baby, you’ll be a fantastic parent, I know it. You’re kind, caring, and loving… you’ll do just fine." Justin pulled away, resting his hands on Mikey’s stomach. “I can’t think of anyone else I’d rather have carrying my child, Mikey. You’re the only one I want to start a family with.”

Mikey smiled, pressing his lips softly to Justin’s. Justin pulled Mikey close, gently rubbing his lower back. “I’ll be there every step of the way, Mikey Mouse, I promise.”

Mikey was curled up in bed, fast asleep as Justin toweled off. The room was quiet as Justin pulled on a pair of boxers. He smiled lovingly at his sleeping fiancé, who looked absolutely adorable in the oversized hoodie and black pajama pants that he typically slept in. Carefully, he joined Mikey in bed, wrapping his arms around his sleeping lover’s waist, gently rubbing his stomach.

Justin smiled, his thoughts going to the baby that was currently growing inside Mikey. Within nine months, they’d have a child. It really was quite exciting… and nerve-wracking. Raising a child required a lot of responsibility. Could he really handle it?

Justin was brought out of his thoughts by Mikey turning in his sleep, snuggling closer to his fiancé. Mikey was smiling in his sleep, likely having a sweet dream in the comfort of his lover’s arms. Justin smiled, amused, and pressed his lips to Mikey’s nose. He decided that, yes, he was overreacting a bit. They’d be okay, he knew it.

Justin gently wrapped the blankets around them, draping an arm protectively over Mikey. He snuggled up close to his fiancé, slowly falling asleep.

Mikey’s cellphone vibrated mere moments after he had woken up. Sighing, Mikey picked up his phone and answered it without looking at the caller ID, yawning something that resembled a greeting.

“Hey, Mikey. What’s up?”

Mikey smiled sleepily at the familiar voice. “Hi, Frank. I just woke up, so nothing much had really happened… how about you?”

“Oh, I’m doing pretty- shit, did I wake you, man? I’m sorry…”

“You’re fine, Frank. Actually, you called me after I woke up.”

“Oh, okay. That’s good. Anyway, I’ve been doing well, but I wanted to call and congratulate you and Justin. Welcome to the world of parenthood, Mikes.”

Mikey giggled softly, getting out of the bed. “Thanks, Frank. I’m still in shock… I just can’t believe it.”

“I know exactly how you feel. When I found out Jamia was pregnant with Cherry and Lily, it took me a whole week to believe it. I’ll admit, it’s a bit of a challenge, but I promise you that it’s worth it.”

Mikey smiled, “So I’ve been told.”

Frank laughed on the other end. “Just so you know, if you need anything, I’m here for you. I know that raising a kid can be a bit of a challenge and I’m willing to help in any way possible.”

“Thank you, Frank,” Mikey said, “That means a lot, really.”

“That’s what friends are for, Mikes. I’ll see you and Justin at the wedding, okay?”

“Okay. See you then, Frank.” Mikey hung up the phone, stretching a bit. He walked downstairs to the kitchen, where he started a pot of coffee. As the coffee brewed, he went through his messages, smiling softly at the messages from Ray, Kristen, Pete, and many of his other friends. As he set down his phone, he felt Justin’s arms wrap around him from behind. He giggled lightly and turned around, smiling at his fiancé.

“Good morning, Mouse,” Justin murmured, kissing the top of Mikey’s head.

Mikey smiled up at Justin, kissing his cheek. “’Morning, babe. Sleep well?”

Justin nodded, “Yeah, I did. And you?”

Mikey stretched, resting his head on Justin’s shoulder. “I slept like a rock. I don’t think I’ve slept that well in a long time.” Mikey kissed Justin softly, wrapping his arms around his neck. Justin smiled against his fiancé’s lips, holding him close.

“Are you still nervous, Mikey?”

Mikey nodded, sighing softly. “Yeah, I am… but I think every new parent is a bit nervous, right?" He rested his hand on his stomach. “But I know you’ll be here every step of the way, and for that, I’m glad.”

Justin smiled lovingly at his fiancé. He pressed a kiss to the tip of his nose, murmuring, “I love you, Mikey.”

“I love you, too, Justin.” He rested his head on Justin’s chest. For several minutes, they stayed in that position, just holding each other. Justin rubbed Mikey’s lower back gently, holding him close as the comfortable silence settles upon them. In a few months, he wouldn’t be able to properly hold Mikey like this. He’d eventually be able to feel the baby kick, and soon after, actually hold his child in his arms. He smiled fondly at the thought and glanced down at Mikey’s stomach.

“I can’t wait, Mikey,” Justin murmured, rubbing his lover’s stomach.
“Neither can I, Justin,” Mikey replied, bringing Justin in for a sweet, chaste kiss.
