"I am betrothed to Blaise Zabini." The words felt strange leaving my mouth, they even sounded unusual. All of my friends stared at me.

"What?" choked out Hermione, spitting out the sip of water she had just taken. It landed all over Ron, but he barely seemed to notice.

"Zabini? Why?" I shrugged. My parents were few of the old-fashioned wizards left, and they expected me to do as I was told, and continue to carry out the pure bloodline. Blaise was not my parent's first choice. That was Draco Malfoy, but they didn't want any connection to the Dark Lord in our family. Blaise's mother felt the same way, and they happily struck up the deal. It would most likely happen after we turned seventeen and graduated, but my parents still wanted to make sure the deal was set. All of my friends were surprised, but I knew that if I didn't tell them, they'd find out somehow.

"Arranged marriages still happen? I thought those died out decades ago," said Fred. I shook my head.

"Some of the more, traditional families still practice them," I told him grimly.

"So does that mean that you and Blaise have to act like a couple?" asked Ginny. I shook my head again.

"Not yet, but ideally, we will develop some kinds of feelings for each other."

Surprisingly, Nevil piped up. "Do you want to marry him?" He asked.

I swallowed hard, feeling the tears that had been sitting behind my eyes starting to break through. "Ideally, we will develop some kinds of feelings for each other," I repeated shakily.

"Oh, honey," said Hermione, she and Ginny moving to wrap their arms around me. The rest of the group followed, turning our compartment into one big group huge.
