  Story status: As of 7/25/2012, I have the next 9k words written (parts of chs 57-60), but I want to get a lot more done before posting any of it, so it might be a while before you see anything.

  After many years of reading fanfic, I'm working on my first attempt at it. Well, I'm 200k-odd words in, at least, so it's more than just an attempt at this point, I guess. It is, as the summary says, a complicated time-travel story of the do-over variety. Why? Because it is a fixed genre and makes a good writing exercise, and I thought I could bring something worthwhile to it. It's mostly a vehicle for what I wanted to do with the Harry Potter universe.

  The warnings are all for real; there's some explicit stuff in there, but mostly not until chapter 42.

  If you think you know me in life, go ahead and read this, but just don't say anything to me about it. Okay? That seems like a fair deal, right?

  "Circaea" is the genus name for a plant used by Circe to turn men into pigs. I could say it has something to do with her being on the chocolate frog cards, but actually the plant produces burs and I have spent a lot of time pulling them out of my socks over the years. I guess it's sort of botanical Stockholm syndrome. This is also a dead give-away if you know me IRL.

  Encouraging reviews are always appreciated, but I'm not the kind of crazy person who holds stories hostage to reviews. :P Rating also lets me know somebody read it who was not a search engine. Recommending this fic to friends is also highly appreciated! Getting people to read it is kind of the whole point of posting it here.
