a band fic discusion
Now this is odd for me to be mentioning or even be asking as I never have and likely never will read or write a band fic but since they are so predominant on this site that I feel I have to...

So

Why band fics?

Why do you write them?

What's the alure of writing fictional tales about real souls who play music?

I can sorta answer the latter. Having dabbled in historical fiction. but my interpreation of dabbling with historcal fics is... history based. (Also note I always use persons not living, or ocs based off of nonliving with a lot of details changed, avoids those pesky slander charges.. if i ever publish anything) Also.. my rl centered works are more an effort to grasp the time they lived in and was left behind rather than to romanticize said individual, alter there circumstance to my whim, or "ship" them.



So. For the outsider looking in, whats the drive, cause ecetera for all these band fics?

A note for the curious. Be warned my taste in music is at best unonventual. I usually dont know who does what, so be gentle with jargon. While i can (with effort) break down music in my head to sheet music I never can recal who sings what.. and in all actuality like instramental over lyric driven pieces.
