The Source of Magic

This is essentially two stories. Everything up until Harry and Hermione spend the night is one tale, walking well-tread ground in the HPHG sub-genre, then a whole different tale begins to be told in the last paragraphs, with almost no connection to the first. If you wish to tell the second story (interesting just for the crackiness of it), there's no reason to vilify the Weasleys or go through a drawn out re-alignment of the epilogue before heading off. If anything, the first part leaves the impression that Harry and Hermione should be together, and the alien tart is interfering with that.
If you want to have a rollicking space-magic adventure, let Buck Potter leave without any baggage.

Sorry you feel that way. The first chapter was just a way to get them out of the UK and keep them away. It will com back around, eventually.
