Remind me never to do this again.

Aaron completely broke down as he heard the gunshots on the other end. He hung up. He just hoped he was in time to save Jack; hoped that Jack had understood the hint, though he knew it was unlikely. He was only six, how could he be expected to remember what had happened that long ago? Besides, Foyet had been planning this ever since he had escaped, maybe even before. He had to know that this would be his last chance and would not stop until he had deprived Hotch of his family.
He was jerked out of his thoughts by the phone ringing. Probably Foyet calling to gloat, but he had to answer it anyway, if just to know whether his son was still alive. Nothing could have prepared him for what he heard.
"Aa-Aaron. I've d-done a t-terrible thing. I don't think y-you'll ever be able to forg-give me." Haley's voice came sobbing over the line.
"Haley!" Aaron replied, then quickly. "It's okay. He was trying to kill you. I'm sure you didn't mean to."
"Bu-But you don't understand.."
"Look, I'll be there in a moment. We can talk in person."
No doubt she had somehow managed to wrestle the gun from Foyet and now felt guilty at taking a human life. They could deal with that. He was just happy she and Jack were okay.
Pulling in the driveway and racing into the house without even bothering to close the door of the car, he was stunned by the sheer horror that he saw. Haley through herself into his arms, weeping against his chest but all he could do was stare.
Foyet, was bound and gagged, in front of the television. His eyes found Hotch's, clearly pleading for help. He had been forced into Haley's "I LoveTwilight" jumpsuit which now had blood running from the main character's fang. In addition, he had on a frilly bra, lipstick, and mascara. The tv show playing was a Barney episode which taught kids why they should always listen to policemen.
"I-I'm so sorry Aaron. I- I don't know what came over me." Haley choked out as his team entered the room, prepared to take down the Reaper, only to witness a punishment worse than death.
