I'm at Sydney's house again (hooray!) and I felt the need to update.
Sydney just told me about her smooth hair? Ummm. Some days that chick worries me like no tomorrow.... It's even weirder because we're listening to Demolition Lovers and it's at the beginning....
I walked into Gerard's house, soaking wet due to the rain. I saw him, sitting on the steps, all stressed out looking. "Why so down, Gee?" I asked.
He looked up. A smile spread across his face, not answering my question. He was happy to see me.
Oh well. Some questions just aren't meant to be answered.
We walked into the living room to find Ray and Mikey surrounded by five types of chips playing some sort of racing game.
Let the fun begin.
We were being the dorks we were until we got bored with that, and went into the kitchen. Mikey got this look on his face and pulled out a bottle of tequila. Gerard laughed.
"Not tonight baby brother." he smiled. Mikey obviously wanted to get wasted and Gerard refused. One person could only take so much Alicia.
Mikey whined in protest. "But Gee! Just one shot? Please?" Mikey made the puppy eyes and got really close to Gerard's face. He laughed and pushed Mikey out of his face, grabbing the bottle and shoving it into a cabinet.
Gerard got very serious now. His eyes glared as he looked straight at Mikey. "No." he pushed him against the wall holding onto the corner of Mikey's shirt like an elementary school bully. Mikey looked scared.
They just stood there, staring, until Ray decided that he would be the one to break the awkward silence by discussing one of the most random things ever.
"So how do you feel on the whole perm v.s. natural afro debate? Because personally, I think people with perms are fakers!"
They ignored Ray. I laughed really loud ten seconds after Ray said that, causing all of them to look at me like I was insane, which I probably was for laughing at a time like this. Gerard turned his head back to his brother. He gave Mikey a look that I couldn't understand, and Mikey nodded. Gerard let go of Mikey and pushed him away as he brushed past me, out of the kitchen. I heard a few loud bangs and the shatter of glass from wherever he was.
"What's his problem?" I asked, confused. Mikey gave Ray a look and he understood.
"Nothing." Ray said.
I knew he was lying. Ray can't lie without being really obvious. I heard a loud crash coming from another room. I tried to run out of the room, but Mikey and Ray caught me by the hood of my jacket and pulled me back.
"It's better if you leave him alone." Mikey said. I struggled free from their grasp. I ran out and frantically searched for Gerard. He meant so much to me.
More than a friend to me. I needed him to function normally. He was the most important person on the planet to me.
Of course I loved Jamia. Who wouldn't? She's so sweet. It just... Gerard was more than anything.
I loved him.
I found him in the dining room, sitting in the corner, curled up, with he head down. He had his arms around his legs, and his one hand was bleeding. There was broken glass between us. He heard me walking and looked up.
"What happened to your hand, buddy?" I asked.
He looked at it and blushed. "Nothing."
"Let me look at it." I said as I motioned for him to come over to where I was. He shook his head no.
He was the only one wearing shoes. I took off mine when I walked in, and I was in only my socks. I took a step forward.
"Frankie, don't. You'll get glass in your feet."
I ignored him and took another step towards the battlefield of glass that lay before me.
