My Lover at Knife-point
1 ReviewsMartel had fallen in love with this lunatic, and he betrayed her. He betrayed them all... (Fluffy-ish)
He could see hate in her eyes. So much hate. But there was something else. Kimbley couldn't quite place it...
Kimbley's insane smile disappeared as he tried to figure out what that emotion was. Martel relaxed for only a second, but tensed back up and held the blade even closer to Kimbley's neck.
The blade left a cut in Kimbley's skin, but he didn't even notice it. He was too busy trying to place this emotion.
Martel hated when he studies her so closely. She couldn't help but show that part of her didn't want to kill him. Part of her just wanted it to go back to how it was... Even without everyone else... She wanted it to go back to when she first fell in love with him.
Martel slowly opened her eyes. Everything was dark.
~Huh?~ she muttered in her head.
She closed her eyes and rolled over. When she opened her eyes again she was staring strait at the bright, sunlight filled window in Kimbley's room. She hissed and burrowed her face into Kimbley's surprisingly soft mattress.
"I see you're awake." The familiar voice of Kimbley pointed out.
Martel rolled over again and reburied her face into Kimbley's warm, naked chest. Kimbley laughed slightly. His laugh wasn't evil or insane. It was content. He wrapped his arms around her and set his face in her hair.
Martel didn't notice Kimbley reach out. He gently stroked her cheek with two fingers. Martel snapped out of her flashback and slapped his hand away.
"Don't you touch me!" Martel yelled, feeling tears well up.
"Please don't cry..." Kimbley begged.
~Don't cry... Don't cry...~ Martel whispered in her mind.
Martel had her face planted in her knees. She could feel her tears soaking into her pants.
"Mar? Mar, are you okay?" Kimbley asked from outside her door.
She coughed silently, trying to clear her throat. She swallowed and tried to talk. At first nothing came out.
"Mar?" Kimbley asked again. He sounded worried.
Martel tried again.
"I'm okay..." She choked out. It was morbidly obvious that she was crying.
"You... don't sound okay... Can I come in?"
"Why are you treating me like this?" Martel whispered to herself. Too loud of a whisper.
"Treating you like what? ...I'm going to come in, okay?" Martel could hear the doorknob turning.
Stupid doors didn't have locks.
Before Martel could protest, Kimbley opened her door and peeked in.
"Mar?" He asked, looking for Martel. He heard her. Where is she?
He walked into the room and listened for her crying. She heard a light sniff from the other side of her bed. He walked over and saw Martel, curled up in a ball next to her bed.
"Martel..." He muttered as he sat next to her, "Are you okay?"
"Why are you treating me like this?" She asked again, her voice choppy.
"Like what?" Kimbley asked, confused.
"Like...like...like I'm human..."
"Because you are." Kimbley wrapped one arm around her back and gave her a reassuring squeeze.
"No I'm not... I'm a monster... a fucking monster..."
"Don't cry... You're not a monster. Your not. Your a beautiful human being." Kimbley pat her hair.
"I'm a snake..."
"Yeah, You have some in you. But that doesn't make you a monster. It makes you... unique."
Martel scootched over, into his lap, and burrowed her face into his chest. KImbley could feel her forgotten tears draining into his shirt.
"Thanks...." She whispered into his chest.
"No problem." He replied as he wrapped his arms around her. He leaned forward and kissed her forehead.
Kimbley slowly reached out again and wiped away the tear that just fell down Martel's cheek. Martel snapped out of another flashback, but she didn't slap his hand away. He set his palm on her cheek and stroked right under her ear with the tips of his fingers.
Martel leaned her head into his hand and let another tear fall.
"I love you..." Kimbley whispered to Martel in her fake sleep. He was sure that she was sleeping.
Martel smiled and Kimbley blushed.
"I love you too." Martel replied as she burrowed her face into his chest. She could hear his heartbeat speed up.
"R-really?" He stuttered.
"Yeah. Do you?" She asked while wrapping her arms around his back and fiddling with his ponytail.
"Of course." He replied while wrapping his arms around her upper back. He had a strong hold.
Her bed felt a lot more comfortable that night.
Martel dropped her dagger and latched onto Kimbley. She wrapped her arms around him and herself with the aid of her ability to stretch her arms. She burrowed her face into his chest and started crying.
Kimbley stepped one step back on impact and Martel followed.
"Mar..." He whispered as he wrapped his arms around her.
"t-they're all gone..." Martel whimpered, her words muffled by his chest.
"shh..." Kimbley hushed as he held her closer to him.
"...Z-zolf?"
"Yes, Martel?"
"........I love you..."
Kimbley smiled.
"I love you too."
