Transpiration
0 Reviews"I've been like this for as long as I can remember." "Been like what?" He asked, sounding worried.
"Ryan?" I heard Brendon call from behind the curtain. Reluctantly, I drew it back revealing his angelic features. His big, brown eyes; his soft skin; his full lips.
"Hey," he said with a smile across his lips. I shifted on my bed in order to make some room for him to sit. Without hesitation, he plopped down next to me.
"We need to talk." It's amazing how fast his expressions can change. From being happy and cheerful to stern and serious.
"What about?" I asked, but in all honesty, I knew exactly what he wanted to talk about.
"About what happened tonight," he began. "H-how did you? How did you know that was going to happen?"
I couldn't tell him the truth. I didn't want him thinking that I was some sort of freak. But that's what I was. A freak. I needed to come up with a lie, and quickly.
"I-I..." I began to trail off. "I didn't know."
"That's bullshit, Ry!" Brendon's voice grew louder. "Obviously you knew, otherwise we all would've been dead right now!"
"Fine!" I yelled back at him. "I knew! I knew that that truck was going to smash into us!" Tears started to form in my eyes.
"How?" Brendon's voice was back to almost a whisper.
"I don't know, Bren." Tears began to stream down my cheeks. "I've been like this for as long as I can remember."
"Been like what?" He asked, sounding worried.
"Please don't call me a freak. Don't turn your back on me and lock me up in some sort of asylum," I said, sounding as if I were begging for his acceptance.
"Ry, I would never do anything like that to you." He took his hand and placed it on my knee. I looked down at the sheets we were sitting on.
"I-I can see things before they happen." I finished and looked up to see his face which was distorted with shock.
"So, you're pretty much telling me that you can see the future?" Brendon asked for clarification.
"Y-yeah. I am." I said, allowing more tears to cascade down my face. "You can't tell anyone else, okay? Not even Jon or Spencer."
"I promise I won't tell anyone." His answer sounded genuine. After all, he was a genuine person.
I felt his strong arms pull me into a hug. I burried my face in his shoudler, crying. Then, he pulled away and placed his hand against my cheek. I looked him in the eyes as he began to wipe the tears that fell down my face. I couldn't take it anymore. I had to feel his full, pink, lips against mine. I leaned in, he did the same. Soon, we were an inch away from eachother. I closed my eyes as the gap was closed between our lips. I placed my hand behind his neck, pulling him in more forcefully; his hand still on my cheek.
I pulled away from him, opening up my eyes which were greeted by his. He wrapped his arm around me as I sunk into his body, placing my head in the crook of his neck. He smelled good, like berries mixed with cream.
We sat like that for a while, embraced in eachothers arms. I was about to close my eyes when Brendon leaned down and whispered in my ear.
"You are not a freak, Ryan. You are an extrodinary person that I am very privileged to know. I am glad that you are in my life because, to be honest, I don't know what I'd do without you."
"I love you, Bren," I whispered. There was a long silence. What if he doesn't love me back? What if he is just doing this to feel sorry for me? Then, my thoughts were interrupted by his quiet laugh.
"I've been waiting so long to hear you say that." I could tell he was smiling. "I love you too, Ryan Ross. And I always will no matter what."
I fell asleep next to him that night, wrapped in his arms, laying against his warm body. It's a good feeling to have, love. But it's even better when the person you love loves you back.
A/N This chapter was definitely more Ryden. I know it sounds like it's done, but beleive me, it's not :) Please rate and review!! Thanks for reading!
