MCR..well, where do I start. I first came across then while at Radio 1 Big Weekend, they performed there and I was there waiting for Lady Gaga, and I'd never heared of MCR but there I fell in love.
I downloaded their songs as soon as I got back (3am) and I listened to them all..I didn't really know about THE BAND as such so I researched them a lot and found about the 'War on Emo' and the daily mail, and Helena, the drug addictions, and the amazing fan base/mutual love between the band and their fans.
See, at the time I was being called emo, self-harming and genrally very unhappy due to some changes in my life..some family members were taken from me and I went through a turbulent-abusive ordeal, and MCR taught me, not to 'rise above It' as such, but more that...it was okay to feel this way, cause' they did..'I am living proof that no matter how bad life gets, it gets better. And a few weeks ago my grandpa, a strong, selfless figure in my life, and one of the few people I thought I could depend on to be there untill the end, passed away...MCR are helping me get through this. And I feel like I'm getting depressed again, cause' everything is getting on top of me, but MCR taught me that that's okay, and in time that'll change, sure its a struggle but its worthwhile...I will survive.
