Chapter 3
1 ReviewsApologies for how short and shitty this chapter is but then next one shall be better...I hope.
Lara, her name was, she didn't automatically turn into a ditsy fangirl when her name got called. She just stood and smiled, but in a way that looked...menacing. As if she was determined to win the Games, and nothing could get in her way to win. Lara was tall, and clearly very into sports, judging by her muscles. Yet she still had a slim, curved figure that a model would kill for. I guessed that Lara could be one of the biggest competiters in the Games.
The other tribute of District 2 was a girl called Jasmine. Next 2 tributes was a girl called Danielle and another called Elena. Nothing about either of these tributes was particularly worrying apart from Elena's seemingly badass attitude. The tributes of District 4 was a regular fangirl named Lindsey, and Sara, the girl who looked like she belonged in the cast of The Only Way Is Essex with the amount of makeup and faketan she was wearing.
District 5 tributes were Amina and Grecia. When Grecia walked onto the platform she appeared to be humming a tune to herself, in a world of her own. Her personality was rather ditsy, but she her look was a lot darker and what I can only describe as emo. Nothing particularly striking about her that would concern me for the Games. District 6, Krysti and Miyu, usual fangirls. Same for Cassie and Hayley, the District 7 tributes. District 8 tributes was Ali, and and Mary, who I still couldn't place. I know that I had definitely seen her face somewhere before, but my mind was too stunned by the recent events to remember her.
District 9 was a girl called Tammy. She seemed quite cocky and over-confident. Clearly, she thought herself capable of winning easily. 2nd tribute was Alex, another of the athletic ones. Another one who would be difficult to kill. Ella and another girl called Jasmine were the tributes of District 10. District 11 tributes were, a rather clumsy Mima who fell on her way up to the platform, and another girl called. Taylor. If Mima acts as silly in the arena as she does now then she would be easy to beat.
As I watched the reaping from District 12 I could see in Kathryns eyes how happy she was when I got picked. Clapping her hands and smiling. A grin that quickly vanished when her name was called to fight against me. I couldn't bring myself to look at her face any more and turned off the tv, heading for the training room. I hadn't realised how late in the afternoon it was and guessed that the reapings must have lasted a lot longer than I had thought. Only managed to get in a couple of hours of bow and arrow practise and running, before heading to the dining room for dinner.
As I looked over at Kathryn sitting at a table by herself, I found I couldn't bring myself to eat anything and told Mary and Charley I wasn't feeling well and needed to get some rest. I instead decided to explore the building that we were staying in. It was absolutely massive and decorated in quite a modern way. As I walked through the long hallways, glancing at the pieces of art hung on the walls, I became lost in my own little world. But I was brought back to reality when I bumped into someone and fell to the ground. I lowered my head and stared at the carpet of the hall to hide my blushing cheeks from whoever I had crashed into. But then his voice made my head snap back up, and I found myself staring up at Dan Howell.
