The front door was slammed open and shut hard as Slash ran through the apartment to his and Axl's room. His heart was pumping hard against his ribcage and his breathing came out in short, soft pants. He shut the bedroom door behind him and locked it, guarding it by sitting on floor, his back against the hard wood. He brought his knees to his chest and buried his face in his hands, letting the tears fall from his eyes to the skin of his palm.

He stayed there for what seemed like hours. His chest hurt from the tears that kept on coming and he had a sore throat from the argument that he and Axl had. They hardly fought about anything but this one was the worst. Axl had made the ultimate betrayal that was like a knife to his heard and a bag of rocks to Slash's body. He felt sick to his stomach. His hands were shaking and he couldn't stop the tears that were falling. How could someone who claims that love you so much....do this to you?

He needed Axl, he needed his arms around him and his voice whispering safe words into his ear. He was breaking apart, feeling the worst pain that anyone could ever feel and the one person who could get rid of that. The one person who could take away all of Slash's pain and tears was the person who caused him this pain. The only person who could hurt him this much was the person he loved him more than existence.

He froze when he heard the front door being opened and quietly shut. Cowboy boot heels clicked against the wooden floor, making a path for their room. Slash breathed in, he wasn't ready to talk to him. He quickly wiped his tears away and tried to keep himself calm and quiet so that Axl wouldn't think that he was here. But, as always, his plan didn't work. He felt the door shake a little when a soft knock was made.

“Slash,” Axl started softly. “Please, baby. Open the door and let me in.”

Slash didn't answer. He couldn't produce the words that he wanted to say to Axl. He could barley talk. Axl's voice sent chills through his body and it made Slash want to open the door and run into his arms. His arms made everything feel right and safe. But his words wanted to make Slash punch Axl.

Why would Axl do this to him?

Slash heard Axl sit down at the opposite side of the door, his heels making a soft noise on the floor and Axl's bangles jingled when he crossed his arms. He heard the singer sigh and felt his head bump against the door. They stayed quiet for a few minutes, only the sound of their breathing could be faintly heard. “You have to come out sometime.” Axl said through the door.

”You can't stay in there for ever.” Slash screwed his eyes shut and clamped his hands over his ears. He didn't want to hear his voice, he didn't want to listen to it. Axl used this voice to get into his head, to manipulate him. After a few seconds of breathing, Slash removed his hands and ran them down his face. But Axl was right, he needed to go out sometime but he wouldn't until he knew that Axl was gone.

“I'm sorry. I was pissed at you and I didn't think what I was doing. Please, Slash. Just talk to me.”

Slash slumped against the door and he waited until Axl gave up. But Axl still kept on knocking and trying to persuade Slash to at least give him a few words. But Slash kept quiet even though it killed him. He didn't understand why Axl would do this.

Wasn't Slash's love enough? Wasn't his devotion enough? Did he do something wrong?

A few hours earlier...

Slash sighed comfortably in the large plump seat of the loud bar. He instantly grabbed his 4th bottle of JD and gulped it down. He needed to forget the argument he and Axl had just a few minutes before. It was over something stupid, they had been arguing a lot lately and it was making them both pissed off. Slash had gotten more drunk than before and didn't like the way some groupie had been hanging all over Axl. His name was Jake or Jack, he couldn't remember.

Axl had given as good as he got, he had insulted Slash back. Calling him a drunk and a useless partner. Slash knew that he didn't mean it, Axl was just upset and he wanted to hurt the guitarist. But it did hurt, more than anything else. Axl had walked away into the crowd and Slash made a move to grab him and pull his boyfriend back into his arms, ready to grovel for forgiveness. But Axl had told him never to go near him again and shoved him away from his body.

Now, Slash had no idea where his boyfriend was and at that moment, all he wanted was to wrap his arms around him and apologize. But knowing Axl, and he did, he knew that Axl needed time to calm down then he would find his way back to Slash. Slash groaned tiredly and then he felt a friendly slap on the back and someone sitting next to him.

“Trouble in paradise?”

Slash looked up and gave Duff a sad smile,”Just a fight. Nothing that can't be sorted.”Slash replied, taking another gulp if his drink. Duff gave him a supportive grin and leaned back in the chair,” He just seems pissed at me all the time and I can't for the life of me figure out why!”

“That's Axl for you. He's hot then cold. But he does love you, any fucker can see that. You know he does.” Duff said to him,” Go look for him. If you don't he'll be even more pissed off, he wants you to be with him.”

Slash looked up again,”You think?” Duff slapped his knee like he was scolding him,”I know. Now fuck off, there is a nice girl coming over and I don't want you to wreck it.” Slash chuckled and nodded, throwing his bottle away and he stepped through the crowd.

His eyes roamed the bodies for a shine of red hair but he couldn't find Axl. Slash rolled his eyes and shoved random people out of the way, making a path on his way. He needed to find Axl. What Duff said was true, Axl needed to feel like there was someone strong that he could fall back on, to make him feel secure and needed.

Slash's eyes caught a glimpse of red golden hair in a corner. He smiled and moved quickly toward it. He pushed at people that were in his way and it looked like Axl was talking to someone but as Slash got closer, it was a totally different scene.

The groupie that was all over Axl, was up against the wall. His fingers were clenched tightly into Axl's long hair and he could hear the guy moaning pleasurably. Axl was kissing him, gripping at his body, eager to pull him closer to his body. Slash felt like he couldn't move, like he was frozen. He wanted to be sick and he also wanted to kill them both at the same time.

He continued to watch as the groupie switched their positions, smashing Axl up against the wall, meeting their lips in another rough kiss. Axl made a soft whimpering noise, his hands gripping the guys ass. As the kiss got more passionate, the groupie started to press kisses down to Axl's neck. Axl's head tipped back against the wall, mouth hanging open as he groaned. Then his eyes open and met Slash's.

At that moment Slash felt his heart break. He felt his body go limp but he knew that he needed to get out of there.

“I hate you.” Slash hissed at him, giving him a look of disgust.

“Sla-” Axl was cut off when Slash made a sharp move toward the exit. The redhead shoved the guy off of his body and ran after his lover, screaming at people who got in his way. But by the time he got out of the bar, Slash was gone.

Axl leaned against the cold brick wall and he cursed. The look on Slash's eyes was enough for Axl to kill someone. He was angry and upset over Slash's accusations that he wanted to hurt him, so he did the only think that he could think of. He kissed another man but it didn't compare to Slash.

No-one could.

End Flashback.
