This site is rubbish. If they could get the spambots under control and allow for easier usage, if there was increased traffic and more plentiful feedback, this negative rating shit might be okay because there would be an opportunity to balance things out. But one reader, one of the first, negatively rated the first few chapters of my fic as OOC. I' not trying to sound whiny and I would have accepted it in other areas of the fic where I find Harry iffy too. But these were on chapters on which I have several reviews on other sites specifically praising the in-character portrayal of the main character. And arguably the most popular chapter (far later in the fic) the one I get the most reviews on, was rated negatively as a trainwreck. Really? Anyways. Everyone is welcome to their opinion, but if you're one of the first readers and you rate something negatively, other people who might enjoy the fic will pass on it. It's personally annoying, but it also just seems like an unnecessarily bitchy system. Regardless, the site kinda sucks. Formatting is a nightmare and wading through spam is not worth the trouble. Go to AO3. It's the stuff of fangirl dreams.
