It's heart-wrenching how she has to go through the whole abuse deal again, but I can't help agreeing with Kara. When your sister trusts you enough to tell you something like that, you can't just tell people until she feels ready to do it herself or you know without a doubt that's what's good for her. Definitely been in that position myself, and if people find out, you can just deny it and do whatever you like..
Also about just sweeping it under the rug. I think they're doing too much ignoring and rather wanting to settle stuff themselves. Police kinda come in handy for all that.
