Yes, Harry should have won Dean and Seamus over to his side with that move. As others have wondered, -- what the devil did Ginny and Mrs. Weasley do to Harry (I believe you said Arthur was there, not a participant). If they tried to drug Harry, I'd have hoped he'd had the brains to worry about Hermione
