Harry Potter and the Marriage Contracts

Well I will freely admit that I was one of the ones who expected you to go with the cliches and have Hermione under a compulsion but I will also freely admit that I like the idea of it just being the choices people make. Ron chose family and Hermione chose Ron.

The obvious idea for Ginny was that she tried (and maybe succeeded) to bed Harry in order to get pregnant. She pushed him to change his will to name her and her family as his beneficiaries should he not survive the war. He got suspicious and things fell apart.

dumbles role is that he orchestrated the Weasley thing and led Ginny to believe that she was somehow entitled to Harry's money. It is all part of the magical bond between Harry and Ginny since he saved her life. Isn't it in Hindu culture that if you save someones life your become responsible for them for the rest of it?

Remus is even easier, in canon he is a fairly weak individual mired in self loathing. Dumbles tells him to stay away from baby Harry and he does. He does come closer when Sirius is free but when he dies Remus draws back again. In canon he denies himself happines all through DH. Even after he is married he pulls away from the ones who love him. Remus is the cliche of Harry in so many badly written fanfics.

I look forward to reading more of this story.

Author's response

- Honestly, I might have if I hadn't already been there, and bought the t-shirt in Acts of Betrayal. I haven't had a 'good guy' Ron since Power He Has Not, so I thought he was due.

- As will be revealed, she was far too much of a cast iron bitch for that.

- Dumbles will be revealed as having orchestrated every single aspect of Harry's life, all toward forging the Weapon to self destruct against Voldemort taking him out in the shrapnel... And Remus helped. If Remus is feeling self loathing toward himself, there is good reason.
