Heh, definitely quite an unusual approach to the harem/army story and one that found me chuckling more than once. I do like the tastes in "other" material shown here (I quite like the Draka stories and the one collection where Steve Stirling let others play in that universe is quite a delight to read, esp. the homage to RAH's "Sixth Column").
I felt the portrayal of Petunia was accurate, she comes across as one who prays when it'd be appropriate and noticed if she didn't and preys the rest of the time (IMHO, that certainly describes her gossip et al.).
I do hope you find the inspiration for either more chapters or a sequel or three.
