I admit, I know about half of the TF story, but this was definitely intriguing, despite how little I know of canon ;)
I have to admit, when Alex was talking to Trip, that started to ring alarm bells in my mind, but I didn't actually guess who else was involved. Definitely imaginitive, and a good explanation as to why this was allowed to occur.
