Definitely quite the unique and interesting chapter. I rather enjoyed Hermione's letter home as it sounds so, so much like her. The response from her mother should be rather a classic letter in both societies. :D
I appreciated that a Chaser like Katie would have the perception and mental processing ability to spot those clues and get a fair idea of their meaning. That she knows enough to realize that some actions need to be taken is "icing on the cake", though I wonder what rumors about Harry it will engender.
THe new prophecy was quite the interesting one and I wonder if Dumbles is going to understand it all when he reads a transcription. I doubt he'll make all the connections, yet, but he'll know enough to cause problems if he's a meddlesome or manipulative type in this fic.
I do see the need for Hermione to educate Harry both on his background and on his responsibilities (mind you, I suspect they'll both enjoy some more intimate aspects of the bond at a later date - if their feelings lie that way, I could see Hermione becoming his bondmate rather than "just" a bonded female).
