ok that ending was supremely odd. After what she said departing, the time they spent together, and the behavior of the house elves, he's not even slightly suspicious? This is someone who is renown for putting together small clues and intuitive reasoning, and he blandly accepts a vague dear john letter? Disappointing.

Author's response

- He's devestated, and surprised how long it took for Daphne to decide to leave him.

- Think about Harry's life for a moment, is it really all that surprising that he would quietly accept that someone didn't want him?

- Yes, Harry does puzzle things through, but not things about himself. He was imprinted with his supposed worthlessness very early, the seven months of freedom he's had since the fall of Tommy isn't going to have changed that.
