On the one hand, this is an original idea and one that isn't often covered in fanfiction, and it gives us an idea of the Emperor's character and what he thinks of himself besides - the Emperor himself isn't touched on much in either the game or the fic, so that's always a good thing.
On the other hand, it glosses over an awful lot, so much that it seems rather dull without a lot of the detail. On the whole it was good as a short read but not very substantial.
Still, as a one-shot it was fine - my favorite line, I think, was where the Emperor calls the painting too "rabbit-like," and the painter's reaction.
