Now that was a brilliant twist and suddenly raises this story to one of my favorite HP crossovers.

The death of magic on Earth is nicely plausible as is the history of Voldemort's time in charge of Britain. It is deeply ironic that Voldemort's attempt to bring Pureblood supremacy instead indirectly led to the destruction of their culture and society.

I will now make a few predictions: Firstly, Voldemort, still immortal, is bound within Hogwarts. Secondly, Harry needs to find and destroy the Horacruxes (possbily a lot easier with the power of the 23rd Century UFP behind him) before facing and destroying Voldemort ("Hi Tom, meet Mr. Phaser!"). Finally, Harry is going to be a saviour in another way: He will bring back magic to Earth and will ensure that those with the power find their place in the Federation. Maybe ultimately to become the UFP's equivalent of Jedi?

I suspect that Remus' letter will contain all the information that Harry needs to start on his quest. I also wonder if Hermione and Luna may have left some clues for him too.

Very nice idea. Well done!

Author's response

I'm glad that you liked it and that this is now one of your favorite crossovers. Setting up the complete socio-economic collapse of the wizarding world wasn't easy. It was an intense piece of research to figure out how to do it plausably. I'm not going to address your predictions as doing so would give away what I have in mind. I'll fully admit though that the setup for the next big twist is already starting. It's going to be a few chapters before I sideswipe everyone with it but its another one of those I don't think that I have seen anyone try this stunt before either.
In the meantime, Keep on reading and reviewing.
