Okay, THAT was abrupt. I'll be watching for that sequel; this part has more loose ends than a shedding Grim.
Somehow I think the Zauberstab-style wand design, with the helical braided active-element core, has less to do with Tonks' success in battle than a particular hair which was substituted into the braid. Well, and the matter of who fabricated the overall wand. Something about that person having ownership rights over the target's blood.
Somehow I think that, when Harry gets around to building a wand for himself, it will class as a major tactical weapon. Here's hoping his ladies can remind him to create and heal/repair as well as destroy with it.
