I think that you did the right thing skipping through the rest of Harry's academy years, although I would have given the Orion incident its own chapter as I suspect it will turn out to be very important.

So! Harry's getting hitched! To a descendent of Luna Lovegood no less! That should be... intersesting... as his Vulcan friends might say. ;) Of course, there is still the final mission to be carried out. Before then, there is the first mission assignment!

Note: Standard proceedure would be for graduates to get an Ensign (O1) rank. However, those of particularly high skill and the best results in their tests may be automatically skipped up to Lieutanant, Junior Grade (O2) at graduation. Up to you which happens to Harry, of course.

Harry looked around the bridge of the USS Dauntless and was aware of a discontinuity in his memories, just what should be expected from travelling through a time warp. He coughed, blinked and looked around him. "Status report, people?"

His helmsman, a tall and slightly gangly human from the low-gravity world of Reach looked down at his panel. "Sir, the braking thrusters have fired. We're just crossing Venus's orbit at low impulse."

Harry nodded and turned to his science officer. "Stendec? When are we?"

"Stand by, Captain," the Vulcan replied. "Based on the polutant content of Earth's atmosphere, I judge that we are in the closing decade of the 20th Century. Based on the position of known Earth space probes and Vulcan subspace beacons, I believe that we are somewhere in the first half of the Earth year 1996."

There was a bleep from the navigator's console. "Lt. Voight?"

Tara looked up from her displays. "Sir, we have the Reman ship on long-range sensors. She's holding station at the Moon's L2 liberation point."

Harry nodded. "Very well, Lieutenant. Engage cloaking device. Helm. Plot an approach to standard orbit."
