Not wanting to spoil the fun with whining about "but Tom had six more soul fragments so not even a nuke falling straight on his head couldn't possibly have killed him" lemme just say that I've had the laugh of the month.
This particular Kipling story I missed somehow; I WILL have to read it now, no excuse.
