Holly Evans and the Spiral Path

You know, I've seen this story around for ages but i haven't read it since the idea of girl-Harry seemed so strange. I'm glad i finally did and there's very little i mind in the story. She's larger-than-life of course but that's just who she is. The characters and the story sometimes goes flat and 2-D, but you generally get the flow back quickly. It would be fun to put her firmly in the good graces of the public for a while though. Second task will be fun.

The bad things are few and far between, but you do step on my personal fetishes here and there. Here's the rundown.
Brits don't drink Scotch, Americans do. The drink is called Whisky. WhiskEy comes from Ireland. It's also a common trade name for bourbon, but we're not talking cornbased beverages here.
In Scotland, there's Whisky.
Of course, one of the best distilleries in Ireland is Bushmills, with the fantastic Black Bush. Isn't holly a bush? Could be a fun pun.

Ah well. Now I'm off to read the Tangents. Thanks!

Author's response

I am just a poor, lost American with no real appreciation for the finer things in life- having been properly schooled, I am making it a mission to clean up my horrid mis-referencing before the next chapter is posted.

I'm only kidding a little- thanks for the insight. I will fix it, for all postings. I was planning on doing a clean-up editing run anyway, so your correction is well-timed.

Yours is the type of review I value most- you tell me what you see as problematic, while still encouraging the story's purpose. Thank you!
