yes i see your point but i have an answer. Pete has no control over Corbin while he is on the road. She can say anything to him and he can't see her he just has to take her word for it. Corbin also keeps it a secret from all off the people she is friends with in school because she feels ashamed and refuses to fess up to the fact that she has absolutely no self control (as pete stated in chp 2) that she doesnt know when to say no. also, suspend disbelief, lol, i'm like shakespeare in that sense lol
